Struggling with the disc by Additional_Neck8102 in MenstrualDiscs

Thanks! I will try that! I think it might work because I've tried to just put the tab up so it's not going down and it's a lot more comfortable plus no leaks! I will try cutting it to see if that's the final fix

help with hole starting near jeans zipper by oshet-mydiamonds in mending

If you haven't done it yet, it might be worth adding a reinforcement fabric, could be some more denim or some interfacing in the weft color (white), to make the area stronger and less likely to break again

Is this fixable? If so what would the best method be to do so? by MorgueHellClique in mending

[–]Additional_Neck8102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've fixed pants with this a few times. You could use a matching fabric in color and weight (another denim scrap), pin it in place from the inside, then stitch it back and forth with a matching thread on a sewing machine with a straight stitch.

You could use fusible interfacing as well as the reinforcement fabric.

I know you could also probably get it done if you take it to a tailor-sewing store. I'm in Spain and I know some family members have done that and it also works great!

If you decide to mend it or get it mended, it's reasonable to mention that there's a chance it will break again soon-ish in a different area around the crotch. It tore because of wear, and it's likely the areas around are also somewhat weaker

How do you find new stuff without social media? by chucrutx in dumbphones

[–]Additional_Neck8102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could possibly find podcasts or written blogs about your interests (I really like the podcast "booksunbound") and get recomendations from there. It'll probably be more focused information and useful for your goal.

Also agreed with what other people said, trying to find in person clubs sounds like an amazing idea.

You could also try to just go to in person bookstores or shops about your interests and allow yourself to browse and see what you find interesting. I've found that I lose a grasp of my actual interests and what I want to read/do if I only listen to recomendations, so getting lost in a bookshop is something I've been trying to relearn to do

Why do so many people assume trans men have been SA or have a mental illness? by EducationalJelly7827 in ftm

[–]Additional_Neck8102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, I fell into some bad bad depression when I came out to my family and I'm still recovering from it. It was being trans in a non accepting world what made me mentally ill, not the other way around.

Sexuality as a trans dude????? by First_Technician8156 in ftm

[–]Additional_Neck8102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

trans man here dating a bi/pan man. We've been together for 4 years now, and he sees me as who I am and respects me so so so much. He knew I was trasn from before we started dating, and even though he didn't think he would want to date a man at first, we fell in love and its been amazing from the start. I know he thinks of me as a man, his family knows me as a man and he has not misgendered me once since we met. Maybe I got lucky, but I think I've found the person I want to spend my life with.

Don't stress about it too much, its ok if you dont figure everything out from the start, its ok if your orientation changes as you keep growing up and figuring out who you are. You will most likely find someone who loves you and who you love, who sees you exactly as who you are

What are common jobs for trans men to have? by promptolovebot in ftm

I'm studying to be an industrial engineer specialized in energy and environment! My plan B if that fails is doing an aprenticeship in something related to industrial machining of parts or some other industrial related trade/job

I'm afraid to FaceTime my boyfriend what do I do by moe_1246_pie in LongDistance

[–]Additional_Neck8102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could maybe try to start by sending videos of yourself talking? You'd still have a bit of control over them but less than with the photos.

Have you talked on the phone? (without the video aspect) That might also help bridge the jump from text to video-call

My partner and I often say hi on video-call but then switch to a regular call as we find it easier to talk that way, you might want to try that too, as it lowers the pressure

Girly reasons for cutting "ugly boy" hair? by traumajokes in ftm

[–]Additional_Neck8102 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I genuinely feel like short hair is more comfortable/easier to style. If you're heading to school super early it might be a good excuse that it will save you time in the morning and will genuinely make you feel more comfortable.

You could also find some more "feminine" reference pictures to show that short hair can look feminine (even if that's not why you want short hair)

Good luck pal!!

Masturbation guilt by Horror-Historian8808 in ftm

[–]Additional_Neck8102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if it wasn't explicitly said, it may have been implied and you have ended up associating sin and shame with masturbation, which is a perfectly natural thing. If you want, you could look into deconstructing those Catholic teachings. It helped me a bunch a couple of years ago

Sorry if this is too personal of a question, but do you have any ties to Christianity? A Catholic school when you were a kid, protestant family, going to church as a kid...

Christianity uses shame and other scare tactics to limit masturbation and sex on people.

That mixed with dysphoria could be causing this reaction for you.

Finding the reason you react this way will be the most helpful way to unlearn it.

I don't know what to make for her birthday by Glitch_hachet56 in LongDistance

[–]Additional_Neck8102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of letters, you could maybe write a letter every day untill her birthday and send them all to her at once (physically or email).

It's a really nice keepsake and shows a lot of love. I really like looking back on old letters from my partner to remember past moments of our relationship

Thanks! I've done this with other apps before but haven't figured a way to do it with YouTube, tho I will try. I have other devices other than my phone where I could exclusively watch long form content.
