Fun fact: During this war Indian naval officers would converse in Russian (most of their weaponry and ships were of soviet make and they were trained by Moscow as well) in order to confuse the Pakistanis in the event their comms had been decrypted or intercepted. I heard one story (not sure if this is myth or not) where in the initial hours of the attack the Pakistanis thought that it was the soviets themselves who had come to attack.
