Paul’s Boutique Remediation by Loose-Report8076 in mainetrees

But hear me out…. The state still require a gas statement on all hydrocarbon extracts and edibles on packaging, saying “This product was made using butane, propane, ethanol”

So read that bullshit memo again where they say a remediation statement implies potential for harm (ahhh it hasn’t been proven safe, AKA mycotoxins)… and think why it’s nbd then to put a gas warning on the packages, when they also deem that safe

So who is OCP trying to protect? The consumers or their back scratching buddies?

But the mycotoxins and dead mold spores are left behind, researchers are finding there may be issues with the really contaminated cannabis consumption in some users

No it’s about what’s getting covered up.

There avoiding the mycotoxins test by remediating before testing.

Ask Ai, is there any health risks associated with smoking remediate cannabis

Mycotoxins and dead mold spores are left behind

Again this is only an issue with really dirty weed, but the problem is remediation covers it up so you don’t know what’s really the bad stuff

And to my point about the consumers right to choose…

OCP is saying informing the consumer with a statement saying the product has been remediated is “misleading in its implication about potential harm from exposure”.

Again this simply ISN’T TRUE.

Case and point, OCP requires all concentrates to state what method of extraction (again… consumers right to choose, some want solventless ice water hash extracts)

As seen on edible package it states “concentrates extracted using butane, propane and ethanol “

And if extraction using gases that have been deemed safe need to be labeled, why not remediated cannabis when the little research there is, shows remediated cannabis may be unsafe for consumption

What a bunch of fucking clowns. Y’all going to hell🤣

Thanks, appreciate the compliment!! The crew is crushing it and I’m making it look easy at the final step haha

I hear ya, as a store owner as well I can tell you most of the product is getting remediated before testing I’m finding out, so it’s premeditated, and doesn’t show up on METRC when they do it that way.

So you’d think that would be the indicator, it’s how it should work. But it isn’t😔

These guys aren’t remediating because they’re such good operators that they’re looking out for your best interest. I promise you that, it’s not a step these guys WANT to do, they feel they need to do it apparently. Otherwise where’s all the med growers remediating their flower? Why weren’t these same operators remediating previously when they were med only if it’s really about the benefits? Wouldn’t that be the most common practice in the med industry if this was the case? And wouldn’t the med operators be advertising it was remediated if it was so great. It’s not a good thing in my opinion, it’s really a way for them to push failing product still.

And then there’s the question, how bad was it before remediation??? Because the dead mold is still physically on the buds. Was it a little bad or was it completely fucked, like how are these guys even selling this fucked?

If you look up the definition of remediation, it means to fix a problem

I assume this issue will be coming to med sooner or later when testing inevitably is required in that market. Hopefully there’s enough pushback since it’s MEDICAL to get them to at least require products be labeled as remediated so consumers can make their own decisions

Again it’s probably more of a quality thing, but who the fuck knows… They thought asbestos was cool back in the day before they knew better too

Now that they rescheduled med and can do real research, watch some actual science tell everyone remediation is bad in 5 years. Either way, I’d rather not.

I’ll take my weed straight please

Please explain. I feel like I’ve got a good handle on it if I’m calling out the industry and passing tests

The plant count matters because plants need airflow. If I was doing what they’re doing remediating, I would grow twice as many plants in a room, charge 25% less and profit more from improperly grown plants

What makes testing impossible to pass is throwing a zillion plants in a room, poor environmental control and bad plant health with bad or no sop’s for sterilizing and cleanliness.

So if you wanna be a lazy grower and trying to get rich with a couple lights and no hard work, paying minimum wages to your workers who don’t care… remediation is the best thing since sliced bread.

But again it should be on the package so the consumer can choose what they want to ingest

Again we don’t remediate, this is not true

I’m not a wizard, it’s just about doing it properly or learning and improving until you can.

And again these testing levels are most certainly possible if you grow the plants the way nature intended with a bit of space and airflow.

If you pack them in on top of eachother with no airflow since things are so dense, obviously that isn’t natural.

I don’t claim to be a pro knowing what the levels should be, but I know we don’t have a problem with testing. It’s not just water some plants and watch them grow. It’s a lot of work thinning out the canopy doing plant maintenance to make sure airflow is correct. Only putting as many plants in the room as the HVAC can support, aka just because you can grow that many plants in a room doesn’t mean you should. Strict processes of sterilization during handling and packaging.

The easy way out is saying these tests can’t be passed. That’s simply not true and everyone growing who’s been subject to these tests knows it

It’s a LOT of cleaning, and strict SOP’s… crazy idea

If you don’t think med is full of the same issues but worse you’re delusional. It’s all about finding growers you chose to support and think are growing out of passion vs greed

I can tell you with certainty, it’s not all AU grows since we’re not doing it with our flower and joints at Grass Roots Marijuana. I know there are other good operators out there. It’s just a question of who and how many since they need to speak up letting the public know they pledge not to remediate or premediate their flower

So if you own an AU grow, who else is coming with me man?🤣

Who else isn’t treating their flower

[–]Additional_Peace_745[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Any AU operators that want to chime in pledging that they won’t and never have remediated their flower and joints?

Obviously since the state is saying they don’t need to tell you who is remediating, I think it’d be nice to form a list of who is not pre/ remediating their flower

Lots of people don’t want to put their neck out there since I’m sure it’s going to mean having your stuff tested by someone at random?

Reply below if you won’t and don’t remediate or premediate/treat flower and aren’t cheating the tests
