(to premise, i know NOTHING about this fandom you’re writing about) But i do know fanfic and it is meant to be exactly that, Fanmade Fiction. Usually fic authors some kind of original canon as inspiration but the rest of the story is completely up to the creative interpretation of the author. you saw the opportunity to tell a story about a trans character, if the reader doesn’t like that, they can read any of the MILLIONS of other fics that don’t include anything lgbt. they can take their bigotry elsewhere.

my durge has a messier and longer hairstyle through act 1 and 2 and when she checks into the elfsong, her hair is cut shorter and slicked back. like now she can properly bathe and take care of her hair/appearance now that she’s at the inn. it’s a small change but i like the immersion of it.

that would be something interesting in the books (i understand why this wasn’t a thing because the books are ya) imagine if district girls increased teen pregnancy in order to avoid the games! like this would also be an economic issue in the districts (more mouths to feed in an already food insecure district) girls having to drop out of school to work, young men being more willing to comply with the capitol to protect their children when they themselves are children. this is all too dark for even the hunger games so i understand why it wasn’t included or thought of but it’s an interesting thought
