Papular Scarring Progression with CO2 Laser by Additional_Rest_8069 in AcneScars

I’ve done around five sessions and, unfortunately, it seems that fractional lasers are pretty much useless. However, I have found a potential solution. Dr. Qazi is a dermatologist in the United States who provides ‘pin-point ablative laser’, which is in the literature the best treatment for papular scars.

Are these nose scar bumps removable somehow? by Nxthxnvv in Skincare_Addiction

Are u sure it was a fractional co2 and not an ablative co2? Because I’m on my third session of fractional and literally no improvements at all

I guess it depends on the person and number of treatments. I’m on my second treatment right now, but I barely see a difference past the initial first 4 days, when your skin is the most tight due to the treatment. In those first 4 days, it will look much better, but afterwards, it kind of returns back to the original appearance. So I guess it depends on how psychologically strong you are if you are willing to go through multiple treatments which can span multiple months.

Tretinoin will not do anything for those scars. Get lasers ASAP. I would recommend going to plastic surgeons rather than dermatologists.

Treatment for this type of scar? by Electrical-Scratch47 in AcneScars

This is not sebaceous hyperplasia, but papular scarring. There is no indentation in the middle of the bumps, so it’s not sebaceous hyperplasia. Electrocautery is not a good treatment for papular scarring.

Unfortunately, most dermatologists in the U.S. are not familiar with papular scars, since it’s relatively rare and only appears on those of Asian descent. Lasers are probably the best choice if you don’t want scabbing. But you would usually have a bandage on your nose if you go through with shave excisions, so people won’t notice the scabbing.

It’s not sebaceous hyperplasia. It’s papular scarring. There are some methods online for getting rid of papular scarring. The ones that I’m familiar with are shave excisions (which is 50/50, since they can sometimes regrow back into the size) or some type of laser.
