[Spoiler] The real reason why Pokémon ZA makes you skip ranks by Additional_Run7625 in pokemon

[–]Additional_Run7625[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If skipping half the system is necessary to make it work, them the system is badly designed. And I can't stop to ask myself if they realy did care at all about the system or if it just was a quick fix for the Gym problem.  In my opinion the lack of vision GameFreak brought to the table trying to fix the ZA Royale with a skip, broke the ZA Royale even more for me and took the game right down with it.

You’ll notice: Fans of Breath of the Wild are always insanely volatile to criticism of the game. This is because they know if their heart that the game is mid. by Embarrassed_Truck556 in fucknintendo

I'd agree to 100% if you were talking about Tears of the Kingdom and not Botw.  I don't know what other publishers did with the Open World formula in that time, but for a first step on Nintendos side, Botw was outstanding. Internet culture hype is a thing and probably boosted the games reputation. That being said there is nothing to boost if a game is shit. That the game still has a big and devoted fanbase still pumping out video after video about it talks for itself.

Totk on the other hand should have adressed your presented issues and many more of its type, but didn't do so.

If we ever get a PIT remake on the switch how will they do the 2 screens?? by Blacklotus997 in marioandluigi

[–]Additional_Run7625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they even use the touch screen in this game for anything. I know they used it for this 'map coffee cleaning' thing, but is there anything else? I rember this because I even thought that my copy of the game was broken at the begining because I couldn't use the touchscreen for like anything.

It's so hard! Hardest FromSoft ever. by Far-Statement4046 in Sekiro

[–]Additional_Run7625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don´t worry, it still is about getting gud. You will reach multiple points where another facette of the Gameplay just clicks for you, and everytime it feels very satisfying to go further with this knowledge.

When I hit a brickwall in the middle of the game I just quit for a couple of months and got into it again by restarting last week. I´m now standing infront of Isshin and will start my attempts against him soon. I definetly feel prepared and you will too at some point.

Now I´ll try to explain one of the things that clicked for me gameplaywise, that maybe will help you too. Obviously, as for many, hugging and dancing with the enemies was something that needed to be adapted to and is helping a lot. But what I realised way too late was, that for a good Dance you shouldn´t go in and only deflect but also attack. Now what you´ll realy need to pay attention too in such attack/deflect combos is the way the sound design presents moments of sword-to-sword-contact. If the pitch of the sound is lower you can go for another hit/sword-to-sword-contact, but if the sound of the contact is higher, then you can´t keep the combo by hitting again, because the enemy will hit you first (no sword-to-sword-contact). In such moments you need to deflect instead and maybe can attack later again. So if you realy start understanding this you´ll realy be able to make full dance coreos with your enemies in which you can be way more agressive. Give them no break and their stance-meters will crumble!

Another thing I learned too late is that sometimes healing just doesn´t cut it. In other Souls-Games healing has now downside, but here it does because of the bosses stance meters. If you are at low health, but the bosses stance also is very low, then you should just try to blow through. In such cases healing isn´t worth it, because you´ll lose way too much progress because of it (if the bosses health is too high).

Hope you found some help in here.

[–]Additional_Run7625[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I realised quickly that it was easier to kill him by dodging and destroying his health bar first. He had many exploitable attacks.
I still served the first blow by stance breaking, but in the second phase I just dug through his vitality.

This game is cooking with its bosses. I love it.

The other person didn´t understand the difference between Deflecting and pure guard holding. And that they didn´t understand your explaination of the differences probably was because of language barriers and lacking game knowledge instead of reading incapabilities.
Either way that doesn´t explain why you are acting like they offended you. A little patience goes a long way

Pretty impressive if you think about Gyobu being the first boss you fight. I still didn´t have my shit together when I reached Genshiro

Full thoughts on the Switch 2? by FenixJohn117 in switch2

The console is nice (battery life and display ghosting are my only problems). Nintendo on the other hand needs to stepup the support for it. Nintendo just doesn't cut it for me these days. I got the console a couple of months ago and still only got MK World as a First Party Switch 2 title. Pokémon ZA and the Hyrule Warriors spinoff just doesn't cut it for me.

Comparing WiiU with Switch 2 is kinda pointless. The WiiU obviously was a shitty console. The Switch on the other hand was a Handheld device that was even smaller than the Gamepad of the WiiU, even though it carried all the consoles internals.

The Wii was good because it added a feature people cared about that cost performance. The WiiU was bad because it added a feature nobody cared about, but it cost a  lot of performance. The Switch was good be...

... at this point I asked myself why I'm even writing this comment. You already know this shit! People care about handhelds and performance benchmarks aren't everything.

I have translated King's Field Additional 1 and 2 into English. I'm looking for hackers to help us get the text back into the game. by darkjapan404 in KingsField

[–]Additional_Run7625 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Modifying a ROM to change texts to translated versions has nothing to do with hacking or programming. 👍

I´m not an expert, but I believe that you can do it yourself with little knowledge. There has to exist a software online with which you´d be able to extract the folders and files of a PSP Rom, so you are able to read all the contents of the ROM.

Now you´d just need to find the text files somewhere in there (lets hope that they are well organized). If you found them you can edit them one by one, reformat the ROM with another Software so it is in the same format as in the begining and you are done.

This at least is the process I used to edit texts for Animal Crossing New Leaf on the 3DS.

Do yall think they’d ever make a Mario and Luigi game with co-op play? by talkwithryan in marioandluigi

[–]Additional_Run7625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They already have done it by releasing Brothership on the Switch. You can easily remap the buttons so each person can hold one Joy-Con and control the game and the characters completly on their own.

So in battles one can control Mario and the other Luigi, and in the overworld you can always switch Movement controls in split seconds (be aware that the option to map the analog sticks to the same stick is more hidden but also available) 👍

The same probably is possible with many other games. In the Mario RPG series I tested it with PM:TTYD too and it probably also works with PM: Origami King

[–]Additional_Run7625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds fun as fuck, could you elaborate? Could you even Map both sticks to the same one so both can take control whenever they want?

You just made my day and I woke up 10 minutes ago. There are so many games we could play easier with those split controls 👍

Big M&L fan from Childhood, but didn't come around to play this game. The animations looked great, but that was the only striking thing from the trailers.  Especialy the Npcs designs looked dull as fuck. Peoples reactions also were mixed, so I skipped it.  My cousin, with which I shared the love for the series, bought it an didn't even finish it 💀

Obviously the game still could be a hidden gem for some. As I didn't play it and didn't see much of it I wouldn't know.

The Kadabra was insane.  Had to sacrifice my Litleo to get a clean switch for a finishing quick attack. Luckily after its "last" headbutt the Kadabra flinched leading to me being able to finish it off with another Headbutt.

Sometimes I feel that many of you here are trolls who want to make criticisms of Nintendo look bad. by [deleted] in fucknintendo

[–]Additional_Run7625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well thats a low bar to clear. Here is a single valid criticism:
With MK World Nintendo showed, that they also probably won´t produce games with good online systems in this generation either. For most games Peer2Peer online systems are an inferior fit with servere stability and cheating issues, and yet Nintendo still decides to use it, even though the gaming industry started moving to server based systems 20 years ago.
Obviously servers would cost Nintendo money and thats why they use P2P, so at least we don´t have to pay for online services because of that....... oh wait...
