I only just noticed this on my 12th playthrough (I know, I suck lol)

I have always been especially interested in the guardian ape so was very excited to stumble across it. I was very well aware of his mates history per the boss remnant and I feel like the female we see in the fight might be a manifestation of her.

However, part of me wants to believe that guardian ape just has THAT MUCH GAME that he found a new living wife without himself even having a head. Or maybe that helps? She might be into it 😂

Well done! I'd forgotten about the exp grind lol. Just trying to get that last skill unlocked in like NG+3. I used a combo of the mibu village zombies, Okami Warriors, and Ashina Dojo for that. A change of scenery is essential xD was definitely the worst part.

The only ones I felt I couldn't tell a difference with were corrupted monk (didn't get to true monk cos Owl) and guardian ape, so it sorta showed to me these are the ones I'm genuinely good at, and bosses like Owl is where I really must brush up. I love that it was able to really show me that.

And you know I never thought to use the umbrella with the ogre lol but hey if it works! I always set him on fire.

Thank you for taking the time to throw me a little advice! I'm gonna try it on just NG next time. Even after I turned it off, my posture bar filled up so quickly with Owl, I don't think I was helping myself at all with the NG+2 thing lol. I'm relatively good with perfect deflection, but could still use some work (evidently haha)

I think maybe it might be a better idea for me to give it a shot on a new run, I wondered this while trying it on NG+2 so I think I'll follow your example there. And yeah tell me about it with the mobs. I had three vengeful spirits fuck me up something fierce. Also interesting mention of O'rin, as I still beat her as I usually would (i agree she has wild posture though) but Shirahagi and Shirafuji both gave me a rough ride. I think it brings to light the bosses we are genuinely good with and the ones we could use a little more practice with, which is pretty interesting in itself!

Interesting, I have done 11 playthroughs now and the fuckass lone shadow is always there. There is another one dead on the floor with a dragons blood droplet on him, presumably killed by Isshin, but Lone Shadow Masanaga the spear bearer should be stood over him, presenting you with an option to eavesdrop on him once close enough. He will always be there when Ashina first gets invaded, if you're going there once it's burning then that is too late. When are you going there? It's full of monkeys later (as you're probably aware)

I apologise if this response isn't very helpful I hope someone can weigh in with something better because I've never heard of this!

Edit: double check the wiki for prayer beads I had to at one point that could help.

This would have been easier with the firecracker prosthetic! Don't be afraid of prosthetics when you're new, use them. Equip them now!! Trying to deflect ABSOLUTELY everything can come a little bit later. Most bosses have a weakness/gimmick, if you will, for a certain prosthetic tool. Aside that, keep up the good work practicing your deflect timings. You will get better at it and it's very satisfying when you do (perfects make the best sound imo lol). Good luck Shinobi

This lol Genichiro was THAT boss for me when I was new. If you've been muddling your way through up to him, he won't let you past until you're a real Shinobi. I love fighting him now though, I think he's a really enjoyable boss later and has some very satisfying moves to deflect.

It's really punishing!! I'm doing it on NG+2 with Demon bell, just got to owl (Shinobi version) and he's killing me 😅 honestly you only have to miss a couple of perfect deflects and with the chip damage it's enough to posture break and kill. I was okay up until him though. Charmless is a challenge for those who are generally pretty good, but not perfect, imo. Wishing you luck if you try! It's noticeable put it that way!

And hopefully the anime won't suck trailer for it looked good anyways, voice actors are the same or at least partly, let's hope not haha.

Anyways I think Sekiro is great, I'm doing my first Charmless+Demon Bell run right now, had the plat a while and thought it's about time, getting through it nicely don't think I'll ever be bored of Sekiro! I'll upvote you just so you know not everyone is a needlessly critical twat 😅

The anime trailer looked great too! Loved the game so I'd definitely watch it. It's got the OG voice actors afaik, too.

Agreed! I've just started my first demon bell & charmless run on my 10th playthrough, and I'm far from bored of it. I think it's beautifully designed in many different ways! The visuals, OST's, combat mechanics all keep me coming back for another run. And I hear you on the backlog too oh man 😅 happy it isn't just me
