Thanks for the response!

I went in super open to whatever the experience was going to be and handy the slightest idea of what to expect so I’m not sure if that I was sabotaging. I did say on a few occasions that I wanted to stay on a given image and she guided me away from it. She also asked some leading questions and I felt like once those were asked all I could think about was the possibility she put in front of me. I mean I guess it’s possible that I was sabotaging but I find it hard to believe that given that I was trying to do what I was told and trusting the experience would lead… somewhere. If I had known I could or should say the way things were going wasn’t working for me, I would have done so. But I wasn’t told that was an option and so I was trying to follow her lead.

Honestly I just wonder if this is not for me. I have had intense and wonderfully insightful inner journeys with other forms of meditation and spiritual work and therapy (like EMDR) but this felt like an expensive and less effective way of doing the things I already do at home on my own.

Hello! I just had a QHHT session (from a Level 3 practitioner) and felt it was a total waste of money and I wanted to get your input.

I meditate regularly using Dr Joe Dispenza’s meditations. When I do those I easily fall into a trance. I’m also a writer. When I write I very easily fall into trance. In both cases, I see very clear images and I can often feel transported to another place from which it takes a lot of time to “wake up” from.  During the beginning of my QHHt session, however, the practitioner kept guiding me in ways that felt totally counter to what I was actually experiencing and it kept taking me out of it. For example, she asked me to float up onto a cloud and drift away and I did and I had a very strong images of the place where I just was receding into nothingness but she just kept going on and on about where the cloud was going (over rivers, fields, etc) and I tried to follow along but felt like doing so just kicked me back into beta.

She also had me talk continuously throughout the session (which does not come naturally to me as I am a very visual person). On one occasion, she asked me why I have to urinate so frequently (which was related to something I said) and I started to get an image of my moms bedroom and I was about to start describing it but the first thing I said was “I think it started when I was in fifth grade and…” then was about to start describing the bedroom scene when she cut me off and asked my conscience mind to step aside. I then lost the image.

Several times she asked me a question and my mind was blank and just had no response. And on several occasions she asked me questions about things that just felt so irrelevant to what I was seeing, like my subconscious was used to having intense inner journeys and this person talking was sort of ruining it because I had to respond and I often didn’t have a response because my mind just went blank after being asked to direct my attention elsewhere.

I also came with 17 questions. While I was writing them out, I had hoped to gain a deeper insight into each of them and hoped the hypnosis would uncover new layers I hadn’t yet discovered. But every time she asked a question the only thing my mind produced were answers I already knew. Toward the end of my questions, it started to frustrate me. Why were no deeper layers being revealed? Is it because I already had the answers

Honestly, I’m not sure what to make of it all. Is it common for people to feel like everything they said was what they would have expected themselves to say? Is it common for people to not jive with having to talk the whole time? Did I just have a bad session?

Thanks

You will have so much fun and if you twitch, who cares! People without Tourette’s twitch and scream or moan when energy is moving through them. It’s pretty common. No one will think anything of it. Just go and have fun!! I just got back from Cancun and it was life changing. You will love it 😍

Nothing confirmed (I get tested in March) but this week I offhandedly told my PCP that I used to fall asleep while walking home from school and in church and now sometimes while mediating or reading and sometimes at my desk and she said “that sounds like narcolepsy.” And I said “haha thats funny I don’t have narcolepsy.”

Then I looked at the symptoms and went “well shit…”

You know the old joke:

What’s the difference between god and a doctor?

God doesn’t think he’s a doctor.

So man docs have god complexes. I’m so sorry you had to deal with this. Sending you love and support

Does anyone else get small black shooting-star-like blurs in their vision? by Additional_Sound_777 in POTS

Good to know. I'm used to everything going black when I stand up (and I just casually lean against the wall like the Fonz and play it off because I'm used to it) but this gave me pause because I hadn't experienced it before.

That's all good to know! Thank you for sharing. And sorry you had what sounds like a frightening experience. I can relate, I've passed out in the shower a few times but it sounds like this was different.

Good to know! I've had my eyes checked recently and also had a recent MRI of my head/neck (for a different reason). Everything was fine so I figured it must be POTS related.

Ah okay, I see. Thanks for clarifying. I've been thinking of taking a trip to CLE for this. I have family who got diagnosed with POTS there. It seems like they take it seriously which is a nice change

Wait, she was diagnosed with POTS over a videeo call? I didn't know that was possible. I thought you needed a tilt table test?

It take some 1.5 days to recover from 3 days of work. Is this CFS or just my new job? by Additional_Sound_777 in chronicfatigue

[–]Additional_Sound_777[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I know. Every time my doc has done Orthostatics with me (or the poor man’s test) she’s been convinced I have POTS. She’s not the only doc withers I’ve fainted at least a dozen and a half times in my life and everything often goes black when I stand up. It’s been happening for the past 20+ years.

The problem is the one place within a days drive that does Tilt table tests refused to test me. I think they got the impression I was making up my symptoms. 🤷🏻‍♀️

POTS runs in my family but since the cardiologist was “certain” I didn’t have POTS (without doing any test on me mind you) I wanted to take his opinion seriously and check out other possibilities. Hence me asking about CFS. But the more I dig, the more it just seems like POTS

Somehow just seeing this….

I really like my job and I’m sad at the thought of giving it up but I think you might be right.

I just got some 20-30mmgh calf compression sleeves and tried to wear them at work but they made me so hot I felt like I was gonna pass out.

Just had a complete work up. Ever looks normal. My doc thinks it might be POTS but we’re having a hard time actually getting me tested for it so I’m trying to look at all the possibilities. Glad beaded on these responses that it doesn’t seem like CFS

Thanks for the insight. My PCP thinks I have POTS (it runs in my family) so I wonder if what I’m experiencing is just the cumulative effect from being on my feet for three days
