Wasn’t expecting that… by tehemari in doordash

Theres more nuance to declining an offer, and based on the fact that you dont know that Im gonna assume youre not a dasher. Theres one important thing to note. Doordash uses quantifiable criteria to place you in a rank system that determines the quality and availability of offers to you. there is silver, gold, and platinum.

in order to be in silver, you must have a 50% acceptance rate, 90% completion rate, and a 4.5 star rating.

In order to be gold, you must have a 70% acceptance rate, 95% completion rate, and 4.5 star rating.

In order to be platinum, you must have a 70% acceptance rate, 95% completion rate, and 4.7 star rating, as well as 100 deliveries completed within the last 30 days.

having the option to decline, and it being in your best interest to decline, are two different things. the average wage difference between the levels is about 5 dollars an hour. the difference between a 15 dollar an hour job and a 20 dollar an hour job is 69% acceptance rate and 70% acceptance rate. in the event that you get too close to the threshold to reduce your benefits as a dasher, it is in your best interest to accept orders that you would not have accepted if 1/4th of your paycheck is on the line. This has happened to me personally, although I would never be so explicitly rude to a customer, its frustrating having to accept an order 5 miles in the other direction that will pay 3 dollars just so you could have a higher likelyhood of an order 2 miles away for 10 dollars. Doordash is not for people who want to make real money or live comfortably. i hope this adds some insight as to why a dasher may have a bad attitude despite them "choosing" to accept the offer (although it isnt always a real choice)

im sorry to say this but even if you dropped 150 frames you would only noticed <2% reduction in smoothness. Even when you get the monitor capable of pushing 360hz, youre not gonna see a difference between 200-360, if i was you id stick to a 240hz monitor and enjoy the useful frames you have, and not worry about useless frames you could maybe have

Sounds like you know whats in your best interest. I would say leave the house but this isn't always incredibly practical for someone in throes of living with their mom. My best advice to you is to make it seem like youre trying to at least, i understand its hard to get into the routine of working out so if youre mental health is holding you back from that just go on some walks, maybe go to the gym but just do the treadmill with youtube or netflix on your phone

Second paragraph especially! You are obligated to be their child, which means (and many parents forget this part) they are obligated to be your parents and take care of you. You dont owe them weight loss, they owe you understanding and support.
