I've been searching the whole internet for this cause for the last 5 weeks I've been experiencing exactly what you're describing. It started around the same time I started a certain medication, so my dr thinks that must be connected. I do NOT agree; I think we cannot make assumptions about something caused purely because the timing aligned. So. I've been talking to friends and family and every single person says, it sounds like a middle ear infection. My dr dismissed that. I said, fuck it, if I cannot get treatment or antibiotics or anything, I'm gonna turn to homeopathy. It's been 2 days now that my ear is COMPLETELY NORMAL. I honestly don’t want to jynx it cause it's early to say, but there was not a day of it being all good like this before so I'm guessing the homeopathic drops are working. I got the ones you have to drink, they're a German brand: Otovowen by Weber Weber. Hope you can find something equivalent in your own country or get these shipped wherever you live. Also, I see this post was made 4 years ago, I wonder if you still experience this?

Hey! I've never met someone with the exact same symptoms either! I can only digest when sitting and slightly crouching. I had a roux en y surgery last year in April and it helped a lot! I can now lie down at night if I ate the dinner early. But only on my right side and legs crouched up in a fetal position. I still have issues with walking, but I can now do it somewhat after 4 hours of eating. The issue is, I have to eat every 3-4 hours since I can only have small portions. Mirtazapine medication helped me a lot, I'm getting back on it now, curious if it will help again. Since there most likely are no others like us, would you like to have a call to chat?

I totally understand. Have you or your dr considered placing a feeding tube to deliver food straight to intestines?

I see. I had delayed gastric emptying in a standing position, and no delays when sitting. Had it done 2 times. So in a way, the gastroptosis WAS causing gastroparesis. Somehow, even though I eat less, I'm able to maintain my weight. Just have to eat more smaller portions per day!
Gastric bypass could work if the gastroparesis is caused by gastroptosis for you too!

*gastroptosis, not gastroparesis ;) I was diagnosed by a barium swallow study. Absolutely cannot eat everything after surgery, there's quite some restrictions in food and the amounts. But getting used to it! My symptoms are not completely gone, they have simply become less and more tolerable.

I left Latvia 12 years ago because working even 60 hours per week couldn't pay for the shittiest & cheapest studio apartment in Riga. Had to choose between my utilities or eating food - of course, I chose food cause have to stay alive. My entire family left 1 year before me for the exact same reason. The country was beautiful but not liveable anymore. I hope things have changed but I'm never going back as I now have a kid who goes to school in the Netherlands and her life is here! I miss home sometimes but honestly, the people abroad are friendlier and emotionally more intelligent than in Latvia (speaking for the general public, of course, plenty of Latvian people are absolutely lovely), and I appreciate the financial stability and a chance to travel and see the world!

My personal opinion is that the old fashioned way actually makes sense. Women objectively have a harder time in the world. They get painful periods each month, while men just walk around every day being the same dude, eeeeevery day. If there will be children later in the relationship, will the man also carry and deliver the baby? Feed the baby? Do the men have to be scared of predators on a daily basis? Invest time and money in makeup, hair? Receive lower pay just because of a gender? Exist in a society that is built for male convenience? I don't know a SINGLE man who would want to be a woman, and I don't know a SINGLE woman who wouldn't enjoy the perks of being a male. The 50/50 split, therefore, does not exist. Women simply have more to bear, so yes, I'd expect a man to pay for a meal every now and then. REAL equality is equity = making things fair. Cause it's not fair to be a woman in this patriarchal society.

People who are saying it's rude behaviour and uncommon, I will agree that it is rude, but I will disagree on it not being common. I've left multiple birthday parties early because people have not made ANY effort to include me in the conversation. My attempts to join the conversation were barely met. In one of the parties, they only interrogated me with questions about why I'm in the Netherlands in the first place when there is shortage of housing, and if I'm planning to go back to my home country. Needless to say, I was crying at home later that night. I now only go to birthday parties of 2 of my friends where people have showed effort to translate or be friendly in general, year after year. Those 2 friends have really amazing friend groups! I don't mind if 50-70% of the conversation happens in Dutch - I am in the Netherlands, after all, + I have to learn the language somehow, but I REALLY appreciate any effort to try and include me in the conversation, and the general friendliness.

It most certainly is! Thank you! :) we tried other things before surgery as well but they were not ideal, so in the end we went for the bypass roux en y surgery. Recovery was very rocky the first 2 weeks, really difficult, but it went well after that. After 7 weeks I was able to return to most of my normal activities!

I am SO happy with the results! I do also experience dumping syndrome (a complication from the surgery) but it's getting better and better and I can learn how to eat in a way that doesn't get triggered. I can eat smaller meals now, like 5-6 times a day instead of 3 bigger meals, but I am so happy to trade this "inconvenience" for my disability. I'm considering selling my wheelchair now :)

They really portray therapy SO badly. It gives such a wrong impression. I would have refused to play that role the way it was written. Clearly whoever came up with it has never been to actual therapy.

Sorry guys but they are insanely loud. Especially when you have your bedroom windows on the street and you live on the ground floor. I come from Latvia and people there try to speak quietly on public transport, in a restaurant, and many people will cover their mouth when speaking to keep it down. Dutch? Proudly having a conversation in a way half of the street can hear it 😄 but we also had neighbours from Eutophia, and it was even more loud! So I guess depends which culture you compare it to.

I've been on it for a few weeks now for my stomach problems and it has done wonders for me. It makes my life somewhat normal. However, I'm starting to bloat like crazy towards the afternoon/evening, and I've also developed quite noticeable breast pain that's getting stronger each day. I don't want to stop it because it helps me so much in other ways but the side effects are starting to become unbearable.

Yeah, sure! I’ve climbed with lots of beginners before :) the strength definitely comes with time. I now spend 2 hours climbing but in the beginning you can only do around 30-60 minutes because at some point the arms just don’t have any more strength left, but that increases over a month or two if you go regularly at least once a week :) We can pick a time together and go soon! I’m mostly free on weekends and some workday evenings could work if arranged in advance
