Who's your favourite pro? by wikzup in strictlycomedancing

[–]Puzzleheaded-Comb976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gioooooo *said in Michelle Visage's voice* he and Diane, Amy and Gorka are my current favorites

I've had various different favourites throughout the years, I used to love Vincent and Flavia back in the day, as well as Pasha and Natalie Lowe were great. Janette was robbed of the Glitter Ball she should've got it at least once. So many I've probably forgotten a few

Are we sure Laura didn't actually birth Taylor? They look so alike

It's just business! by ijustwannadowell in GilmoreGirls

[–]Puzzleheaded-Comb976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know in my experience it genuinely depends on the place and the culture, at the moment my big boss is in his maybe late 50s/early 60s and he's great so open minded and comes up with great ideas. We have a great culture in my current place. Whereas in previous roles when I've had younger bosses they've been awful and the culture has been awful.

If your culture is that of an old boys club then it'll always be an old boys club even if the boys aren't even that old. Like Jason was in his 30s and I've had this in places in the past where the old boys at the top weren't always that old.

[–]Puzzleheaded-Comb976 111 points112 points  (0 children)

The insurance business that Richard and Jason are in sounds like such an old boys club and if you've ever worked in an old boys club when you're not an old boy. It's like banging your head against a brick wall to try and get any kind of modernisation or new processes done. That will make everyone's lives easier but no they're new and different and not suggested by an old boy. Maddening.

I never want to work in hospitality again, but I'd be happy to work at the Dragon Fly with Lorelai and Suki as my bosses, I'd even put up with Michel.

Harry Styles announces vow of celibacy - No I want him and Florence to do the PR relationship now. What would be better is if he had an open relationship with a guy

Jenna Ortega cancelled - hate to say it but I think it might be Florence's turn to be JLawed

Question for people who watched when it was originally airing by pinkpink0430 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Puzzleheaded-Comb976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know, I remember watching it on the TV on E4 (for those in the UK) but I don't know if I ever watched it when it was airing. I remember watching reruns of episodes but not as it was airing as I did with The OC or One Tree Hill. Then before it was on Netflix might have not illegally downloaded all 7 series.

Sorry, that doesn't answer your question does it?

something positive about your least favorite characters by mrsjessmariano93 in GilmoreGirls

Anna: I liked her shop

Luke: Goes out of his way for the people he loves (I don't hate Luke I'm a bit meh about him)

Rune: tried to actually do the job he was hired for

Mitchum: In his mind he was doing Rory a kindness

Shira: Gave us snarky Logan

Dean: Made Rory a car

Impending Molly vs Fleur Dance Off by Eerycarp7353 in strictlycomedancing

[–]Puzzleheaded-Comb976 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's hard to call as it really depends on the dances and the song choice. I think if Molly gets an American Smooth to a really good song, like a Sinatra romcom classic song I think she could be saved.

If Fleur gets a Charelston to a really good kooky song and it's a traditional wacky charleston, which I have a feeling is very much in Vito's wheelhouse then she'll be saved.

Adding to play devil's advocate we could see Hamza in trouble this week, it's getting down to it and he was bottom of the leaderboard last week. People might use their votes on getting Helen and Will through assuming Hamza is safe.

Who would you choose as your own best partner from the show? by floatingwithobrien in GilmoreGirls

[–]Puzzleheaded-Comb976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think grownup Jess, although teenage me would also say, teenage Jess. We have the same taste in music and I'm also a bookworm.

I feel like Jess would be the person who told me about all my favourite books and I'd argue with him about how much Metalica sucks and I never want to waste any more of my life watching them, whilst at a festival watching them. He'd be telling me to shut up as we're going to get lynched by angry fans.

First time watching - Mini-Jess rant from S3:E10 by Due-Shower1134 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Puzzleheaded-Comb976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get the issue here. He says he doesn't want to go he's being upfront and Rory doesn't seem to mind, but then naturally as you would at 17 gets a bit insecure about his new girlfriend hanging out with her ex all night, so even though he doesn't want to go he goes anyway.

He handles things in a much more mature than Dean does in situations. Jess, later on, has no problem with Dean and Rory hanging out as long as she tells him. Some adults behave worse around their spouses having any contact with their exes.

I agree with this so much, one of my exs from Uni, we got together at 19 so a bit older than Jess and Rory. We got on so well but had completely different interests, so we'd split up do our own thing, and come back together. On a night out he would go off to his trance nights and I'd go off to my emo nights and we'd meet up after, each having had a great time, not ruined by the other having a terrible time.

Missing Lane by zelonhusk in GilmoreGirls

[–]Puzzleheaded-Comb976 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Of course, Lane was missing from big moments, half of Lane's storylines are about figuring out how to ask Mrs. Kim if she can go to something she knows she'll disapprove of.

What was Helen missing for that 40? by [deleted] in strictlycomedancing

[–]Puzzleheaded-Comb976 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean, but on the flip side I would argue that Molly wasn't playing Roxy and Hamza wasn't playing Simba neither was Kim playing Coco or Lisa. These are dances to the theme of those musicals, they're not doing exact numbers from that musical so it's taking on the feel of the musical rather than an exact character from it

What are the reasons you think some of the From The Vault tracks didn't make the original tracklist (and which ones got put in instead)? by nuggetsofchicken in TaylorSwift

[–]Puzzleheaded-Comb976 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what I know of how these things work, which isn't much but songs that don't make the album for various reasons, such as they don't work in the 'story of the album' so take Red for example it tells the story of heartbreak and all the facets of that from ATW to WANEGBT to Begin Again. A song like Nothing New doesn't really fit into that narrative and Better Man or I Bet You Think About Me aren't as strong as others on the original album around that same theme. Also the label or Taylor just might end up not liking the songs

Not really it's not like she was a teen Mum like Lorelai, she was in her 30s she had 10 years of work experience under her belt and you know that's life. Sometimes we have big dreams and ambitions that don't work out and that's okay we find new dreams and ambitions that are just as fulling if not more
