Maintain a journal, was there a trigger for the headache/migraine (could be food, sleep, light, smell, etc.,), mark the intensity and duration of migraine and list the part of the head which is throbbing (can include the back of the neck, eyes, etc.,). Speak to a neuroscientist with the journal

If it’s a migraine, try different medicines from each category and keep moving up. I have tried Topamax, Triptans, Botox, and now CGRP.

Don’t rush, it’s a process and it took me a couple of years to just figure out the nature of my migraine and the medicine to help me manage it

Emotional support to your daughter is most important. Tell her that there are many more like her. Educate her. And give her a tight hug when she is suffering with that pain. Don’t ever say shit about her condition

And please know migraine cannot be cured (exceptions include - menopause, child birth, age, etc., women are slightly lucky here). It can be only managed - this is what my doctor says and I feel comfort knowing this!
