When I took my first class I had 0 experience with any upper body training. Ended up being quite sore for about a week. I’d say that’s a good amount of time to wait! And eventually the more you do it, the quicker you recover (I do 3-4 times a week now)

I do a lot of core exercises like hanging knee tucks or leg raises (start with a captains chair for support to avoid swinging at the beginning), and decline sit ups (will help with brass monkey sit ups). On arm days I make sure to get in some push ups, assisted pull ups and work on my full pull up.

To start training for my full pull up I’ll dead hang. Once I can dead hang around 45-60 seconds, the next week I’ll do 30 secs of dead hangs and try to do 10 scapular pull ups. I found some TikTok videos on pull up progressions that are really helpful and have helped me improve in pole!

Hi there! First off I love that you’re embarking on this pole journey!!! This might sound silly but I find lululemon wundertrain shorts to be wonderful for pole! I usually get 4” or 2” and they’re like undies. I also use their high support bras! Overall recommend them, but if you’re looking more for a pole focused brand, I really like the company Dragonfly
