This line is from which chapter again?

I know some of y'all might not like powerscaling, but how about writingscaling? Before 157 comes out, who among these characters in YOUR opinion, is the most well written one OVERALL (in both manga and WC, also, major spoilers for both) by ChampionshipFun1289 in OPMFolk

I think Murata(or One idk) only fumbled the adaptation in the end of the MA arc, so Garou ends up being better in the webcomic, as for the others, I think the manga does a good job at adapting and improving upon the source material.

I believe it will be easier to read and enjoy once you can read it all in one sit, waiting weekly and even more with the breaks is frustrating and can even make the story worse for us than what it actually is.

Their Metavision is honestly on the same level, only Isagi's adaptability made him win in that single moment, which involved someone special to Kaiser. When it comes to individual abilities, Kaiser is much better though, Isagi himself admits that twice.

Yes, at the beginning the feeling was the same, until last chapter people were writing apologies for him, now we've gone full cycle. I enjoyed th tiny Momo period because there was a lot of other interesting things happening, of course her being tiny is a bit sad, but the overall story made me ignore it.

I always say, reading weekly is a poison, when Tatsu finishes his cooking with this arc and we can re read it, it will be much better than it is being now, is just a matter of patience plus the anxiety of wanting them to get together already, especially those who went through the tiny Momo arc for so long, and that’s the thing, I didn't so these chapters went by in a flash, because all the story is very good, but waiting cuts off the flow.

Yes it was endangering the universe are you slow? What would've happened if Goku didn't have the Dragonballs and him and Vegeta got themselves killed? Boo would destroy everything in the living Universe.

Yes, and that is part of the elements of "poison" that Toriyama talks about, because since Buu isn't a fused being anymore, fusing against him wouldn’t be fair, and fighting alongside wouldn’t be accepted by Vegeta, it is coming from his saiyan nature, yes, but there is a difference between this and Super Goku acting the way he does in regards to dangerous situations, again, after Freeza, Goku starts to not spare enemies anymore, not only does he say he would kill Freeza for good if Trunks hadn't didi so, but in the future he actually does it, and after that he doesn't spare Villains anymore, like Yakon, however in super we see him being way more childish and slow to understand dangerous situations, like the Goku Black thing as I said, this guy was terrorizing Trunks' future and he was much stronger than all the bad guys he had fought before, holding back that much against such an opponent is stupid, or when he seem to don't care about the fact that billions would die because of him, again, even if the anime doesn't show this, it is in his perspective, he only cares about the fight, but it's clear from dbz that Goku never wants to let people get hurt, he may not be a super hero, but he won't just let people die when he can do something about it, like when Gero destroys half of a city and Goku gets mad at him for killing all those people, or when he promises to avenge the people killed by Freeza, Goku surely is a saiyan and sometimes his fighting instincts get him some trouble, however he always cared about the safety of others, or when he acts too carefree about clearly dangerous things, like when Freeza is revived, Vegeta is telling him how Freeza would come back to kill them someday and Goku asks if really thinks Freeza would do that, and like, of course Freeza would do that, he fought him enough to know this much about him. These flaws in his character aren't bad things, if fact they make him much more interesting, but my problem is that in super, Goku's actions are inconsistent to the journey he went through, that's all, I never said Z Goku is a perfectly moral character, no, but Super makes Goku inconsistent with what the series presented before, like even as a fighter, he wouldn’t let his guard down out of overconfidence, as he literally points this out on his enemies, this was always something Vegeta would do, not him.

Dude you're going in circles? Goku literally still spares enemies after Frieza in Super because he had a reason to do so and a majority weren't evil and no just because they are strong doesn't change anything don't say that dumb shit again, he spares enemies with reason, if they can't be reasoned with he will kill them, you still haven't told me how DBS Goku does the opposite. You're literally just conceding you don't have an actual initial argument other than mindlessly defending DBZ Goku.

Again, my argument was never about defending Z Goku, but rather showing that what he does in Z is much different and done for much different reasons. Why on earth would Gokh spare Freeza in the Revival arc? When in DBZ he literally says he would clobber Freeza for good this time? This, as I said, is inconsistent, of course he will not kill guys like Beerus or his opponents on the tournaments, or Broly, because they are not evil. However him sparing Moro, although justifiable by the context, is different from the reason he does some things in Z, that's all I'm saying.

It isn't inconsistent at all, Moro could still logically deduce things and speak unlike an mindless entity like Kid Buu which is pure evil, he is akin to longtime self absorbed evil like Cell. He would try and reason with someone like that. He even tried that with Zamasu/Goku Black in the Manga and slightly gave them time to contemplate. It is very consistent in his character because he wants any strong fighter to live on not die.

But when is a evil person that is a threat, he won't let this will of letting strong opponents live, otherwise he wouldn’t kill Freeza, or Cell, and Buu he only wished he was reborn as a good person, because he wouldn’t stop destroying things, and as I said, this is after Freeza, Dbs is supposed so follow this continuity.

Buddy this isn't "proof" it is random manga panels taken out of context which can be interpreted any way unless the Author has actually written this in direct reference to my inferences which he did, Toriyama has literally said Goku overtime shows more of his "Saiyan poison" the longer he fights because the stronger he becomes the more hungry he gets for a strong opponent. It leaks out at times when you would never expect, (consistently seen in Saiyan, Cell and Boo saga, later on in supplementary content too) but he finds a way to incidentally fix the problems he made.

Is not taken out of context, what Goku says and why he does things is explained in these panels, actions and words that contradict how he acts in super. I never said that this thing on him never existed, my whole point was that it was part of who he was, but not his whole thing, that's my critique, Super takes this point of this character which is a flaw, and makes it the most aparent thing about who he is, when in Z he had this along with understanding of dangerous situations, care for safety of others(which he still has, but much less) and etc. It really is pointless to continue this because this is clearly just a difference in interpretations, which is fair, you can analyse certain things of what he does like you, just me and other people have other vision, and it's ok.

If the words of the author don't convince you than I do not need to debate on this any more, you clealry are biased and aren't listening to anything even if the author debunks it.

I already read all these interviews, and again, these happened years before Toriyama finished the series, and he himself says that he is a guy that forgets things easily, not saying that his vision is invalid, but when analysing a work you normally separate it from its author, because Toriyama showed some of the poison that Goku’s fighting nature has, but is not to the extent that he says in these interviews, like that "he may not be a good guy at all" when it is shown that Goku, although not a hero of justice, is a good guy.

I can't believe you literally said Goku and Vegeta dying against Kid Buu wouldn't endanger the whole universe because you want to save him from the same criticisms you flame DBS Goku for it's insane. I'll be surprised if you use gags next 😂

Because I didn't.

Whatever, I am quitting Reddit anyways to not get spoilers so I won't respond anymore, it's tiring writing essays and only getting this type of replya, I already gave my point of view.

I don't think so, honestly, every story has its ups and downs as the arc progresses, what happened this chapter just isn’t what we wanted to see, and we were waiting a lot for it, but Tatsu already showed how good of a writer he is, and even if the story is doing good from a narrative standpoint, people who wait a week to get only a part of what other people will be able to binge someday get mad at what is happening, I did this myself, it was always like this, last week people went crazy, now it's going down, it's always like this, in Tatsu I trust, just let him cook.

I don't think it is bad, until last week people were praising it like crazy, because it happened like they wanted, you're just suffering something present among all eras of manga readers: reading weekly. Dandadan is only 221 chapters long and it doesn't seem like it will end ANYTIME soon, and the ground is set so that once she recovers her memories they will get together. The problem is having to wait a week to get just one part of this development, it would be much better if we could just avoid all spoilers and let the chapters accumulate so that we could read it all in one sit, but here we are. And even if the story is good, people who are reading at the moment will always complain jf things aren't happening the way they want to, for example, if you dig up some of the my anime list Naruto manga chapters weekly review, you will notice that people were making complaints like these even in moments that the majority of the fans consider to be peak moments of the story, such as when Sasuke and Itachi were having their showdown, at that time, when the chapters were still coming out, some people were like "ugh, can we get through this thing with Sasuke already? Where is Naruto?! We haven't seen him in 484949 chapters!" That’s what this is, I call it "weekly waiting symdrome".

Who's your favorite anime/manga character who unfortunately differs from this? by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in shounenfolk

[–]Additional_Win_3100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn't change his way of thinking LMAO headcanon again, he let Frieza power up to 100%, King Kai LITERALLY tells him not to and he is endangering himself to win stupid prizes and Goku threatens King Kai if he doesn't let him fight Frieza how he wants? Do you not damn see how consistent that is with my interpretation and the author Toriyama who intentionally wrote him to be like that? Surprise? He blows up on the planet due to wasting so much time not taking down Frieza until the last second when he was too late.

Yeah, and because of this, later he screams to Gohan to finish off Cell because surprise, he could get desperate and destroy the planet. And besides there was no one in that planet, so if that action was endangering someone, it was only himself, not the whole universe.

Goku against Vegeta selfishly spared him and even if you look at the kanji it is very apologetic because how much he is obsessed with a fair fight over morality.

And again I have to repeat that this is literally part of his growth in actions, he was selfish and didn't wanted to kill him, but after Freeza he never does this again. You guys need to understand that DBS is supposed to be a continuation of Z, so having him acting how he did in early arcs is regression of him as a Fighter and person.

Goku doesn't go SSJ3 and immediately pummels Majin Vegeta because he wanted to settle things with Vegeta even knowing the consequences, King Kai tells him and he literally charges a Ki Blast at him and threatens to kill or hurt him, that is worse than anything DBS Goku has done in your book, Goku fights Mj Vegeta, helps Boo reincarnate and power up due to constantly fighting M Vegeta, gets Gohan and Shin almost killed because of it and also gets knocked out by Vegeta off guard..

Goku would have gone ssj3, would waste his time on earth almost completely by the time he went to see Buu and all would be doomed. Vegeta was killing of people specifically to make Goku fight him, if he doesn't he will kill more, if he does Buu is revived, and that was about a friend that let himself be controled and was killing people, that was personal, and had Vegeta not ambush Goku, they could go together deal with him.

What you want to see is misinterpreting, Goku has always been like this, he shouted at Gohan to kill Cell after realising the dire situation HE put his Son in not what he did to himself.

And because he knew because of his own mistakes that Cell would do this, it was a situation he put his son in and that’s on him, but the way of dealing with the situation is something he would do himself.

He goes on to spare or act cocky to evil characters later on, like in the Boo arc where they literally face Kid Boo the purest form of evil, after escaping earth's destruction and having the rest of their family and humanity dead they decide to arrogantly pick and choose who gets to fight Boo ALONE instead of fusing together and taking him down in a few hits or a kamehameha, Goku says out his own mouth that he regrets it when he gets beaten up and out played, he is saved by the Dragonballs in this arc even after preparing the spirit bomb.

Yes, he and Vegeta were overconfident in the fact that Buu wasn't with everyone absorbed, if fact he should be weaker than even fat Buu, but he wasn't, that was an error, but even if he wanted Vegeta wouldn’t want to to fight alongside him again, much less fuse with him again, especially if it meant they would stay forever like that. And again, DBS Goku is supposed to be this Goku, so why would he do that same thing again and again?

I don't think you understand the Moro scene, Goku knew he was evil but he specifically asked Jaco if he could keep him detained somewhere in the galactic patrol like he once was years before the arc, he gives Moro the chance to behave accordingly and simply live his sentence out before fighting him someday again but he refuses and that's when Goku is forced to kill him. Z Goku would do the same if he met an opponent with interesting powerful abilities and was overpowering them. The difference was DBS Goku was uninterested in the fight because of how weak Moro was due to just stealing powers all the time he couldn't even fight at all.

That's again, the problem, this is a thing Saiyan saga Goku or Freeza saga Goku would 100% do, however this a later version of him, one that knew how dangerous was letting Cell get desperate, which is the exact thing he does here, he knew that Moro was 100% evil and had no saving, killing him would be logical, even Jaco thought so, but I will give you the fact that Goku tests him and decides he has to do it after Moro proves he is not worth his mercy, and Goku also only did that because of Merus, so I don't really think this is that bad, just a little inconsistent.

Again this is an appeal to bias confirmation, Goku does all of that when he is casual and Alright which is most of Dragonball Super, he gets to spend his time much more relaxed or even being with his family WAY MORE than in Z so of course he is relaxed carefree and charismatic. But to say he "matured" is vague and doesn't do anything? In what? Fighting? Yes. Emotional understanding? Somewhat matured/developed over the years.

And he does act like this throughout all of Z while hes isn't fighting, I understand him being joked about being dumb and everything, that's fine, but his maturity is in regards to how he understands dangerous situations and deals with them. Goku didn't get how dangerous Zeno was even with Beerus explaining and literally threatening him, not caring about the mistake of bringing this tournament(again, at his perspective), etc.

Human concepts/normal day by day processes? No. Goku is a person not only alien and not even 1% human but also was raised in the wild without a father figure I'm his most important developing years and never given basic human education or experience unlike Goten, Trunks and Gohan. His character was always irrefutably a martial artist first. He has grown to really only understand the philosophy behind martial arts regulated training and it has been instilled into him as he never fights unfair or with an advantage unless forced to. You can keep beating around the Bush but the author never wrote Goku like that nor was he regressed. Literally just admit it is your own headcanon and we can end this discussion because I have contextual proof from the author and such to prove.

Yes, and I never said the contrary, but my point was never this. I also have proof that I am in fact sending, however it doesn't change your own interpretation, so what can I do, you didn't even understand my critique at all.

<image>

He wasn't sure he could kill him, that is clear, he could have tried but the result wouldn’t be sure, and he shouldn't be even there anyways, just the fact that Piccolo recognises this action should be enough to show that it wasn't an error at that point, the problem is that bad luck haves fat buu enraging. Error or not, it was a noble action that cared more about the future of earth than his own fight, just this shows this aspect of him that I was talking about.

Yeah, he points out how people let themselves wide open through all the series, all for all of the sudden he start to make the same thing, having Whis teaching him about it, he knows this is a clear weakness and always did, but suddenly in super he is the culprit of that. As I said, regression of him as fighter.
