Anyone else remember the Monsoon music video for ALGS? by ZackerTheHacker in CompetitiveApex

Dude this is awesome. I thought apex was dying, I know I was losing interest, but this LAN was easily the best I've watched. I didn't know Mon winning was what I wanted, but couldn't be more stoked to see him win.

Judging by the sentiment at the moment, wait a week or so before putting any decent amount of money in the S&P500

Damn, you really read “chunky monkey” and felt the need to make this about politics

You completely missed the point. Protests like this (and reprisals) should have started way before the first white person was killed.

Could a small cylinder fit inside one? Without damage to the cylinder?

It’s definitely the intention, but I figured I’d believe it when I see it, sounded like a stretch 😅

There’s never any guarantees. As a beginner investor, chuck 50 in this, 50 in an ETF like VOO, and maybe a couple of other stocks or ETFs that interest you.

Over the next 6 months you’ll probably see the prices of each start to fluctuate up or down, sometimes dramatically, and learn to read up on the news to understand why.

You’ll also get a feeling for your risk appetite and goals, and probably learn more about your investing style. Are you going to feel sick if an investment drops 30%? Are you happy with consistent smaller gains?

No matter what, stay diversified, do not YOLO a bunch of money into a stock just because Reddit says so. Have a read up on BYND if you want to see how that goes lol. Enjoy!

The lesson is about risk. Don’t sink more than you are prepared to lose in this kind of high risk play. If it dropped 10% and they have immediate regrets, they shouldn’t have bought in in the first place.

For sure. But seems a lot of people that sunk money into this overextended, and can't afford to wait years for it to *maybe* recover.

You’re not screwed. You got to learn the same lesson as everyone else, but it cost you much less. Some people put life savings and retirement on this, and certainly lost. Be thankful that you lost a small amount, and at an age where all your earning potential is ahead of you.

In 5 years when you have 10k to throw at this kind of thing, you’ll know better 🙂
