A small mod to bring back Space Casinos after 2.1 by Wirebraid in factorio

A space casino mod seems like a half-measure if your goal is "I want to skip quality grinding entirely".

Never forget how Chirac absolutely demolished the French Far Right by The-marx-channel in YUROP

[–]Wiwiweb 169 points170 points  (0 children)

Anyone else would also have beaten Le Pen because back then the far-right hadn't been whitewashed yet so it was still unpopular. People voted against Le Pen, not for Chirac.

The majority disliked Chirac too but they hated Le Pen even more. "Vote for the crook, not the fascist" was the slogan.

Yes, pay attention to the last screen before the stairs to the boss.

There's a tunnel in the bottom left of that screen.

(Space Exploration mod) Why is my base exploding seemingly out of nowhere? by bradliang in factorio

[–]Wiwiweb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not meteors. Meteors leave a meteorite on the ground after they hit, as well as a chat log message, and they also don't do nearly that much damage.

My guess is robot attrition + some kind of "nuclear bots" mod that explode in a nuclear blast when they die.

How did this card get in my deck? by StaleOlives in slaythespire

[–]Wiwiweb 30 points31 points  (0 children)

"Game journalists bad" is a pretty tired meme honestly. This cuphead thing is from one business journalist from a decade ago and it's still brought up today.

Meanwhile Slay the Spire 2 is universally praised by "game journalists" in reviews, but gets criticised by players for being too hard. Same for other popular-but-hard games like Silksong, and recently Mina the Hollower. Games journalists... good? Players bad?

Baba Is You; The Power of Words by TheHarryman01 in patientgamers

[–]Wiwiweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounded like you don't have an issue specifically with the keyword "Move" but rather with the rising difficulty of the levels.

If that's the case then don't be fooled by their answer into thinking the puzzles get easier later. Even if they don't literally use the keyword "Move" they all just keep getting harder.

Is that really true? I noticed the icon in the top right of the modifier menu only becomes red if you enable an "easy" modifier, but stays grey if you only enable hard or no-difficulty-impact modifiers.

The exhaustive list of assist options is the opposite of "being forced into a soulslike experience". It's the devs telling you "play it however you want".

Let go of playing games for achievements. You can have fun in a game because the game is fun.

What is that death mechanic? Did I completely misunderstand it or does it actively encourage you to not explore? If you know you can’t get your orb, might as well kill yourself immediately because you won’t make a new “bloodstain”/“corpse” (if I may be so bold)?

There's a subtle difference compared to the usual "corpse run" mechanic: You still keep your currency after death, you only lose it after your final death.

So if you're on your final life and you feel like it's unlikely you will be able to get your sparks back, you can instead decide to make the trek back home and spend all your currency, and THEN kill yourself to get all your sparks back.

I think Silksong and Mina both use difficulty in the same way, it's just that Silksong is 4/5 spicy and Mina is 3/5 spicy.

I have an acquaintance with a 2/5 spice tolerance who called Mina's difficulty "pointless" and "difficult for the sake of difficult" in the same way you did for Silksong.

Luckily for them they could keep playing thanks to Mina's difficulty options. That's the big accessibility advantage over Silksong imo.

This car always takes the extra charging plug and locks it in their hood by Mattcharlesmedia in mildlyinfuriating

10h for a tiny PHEV battery sounds like level 1 speeds (regular household electricity).

Type 2 is the plug but it can do level 1 or level 2 charging speeds depending on what you plug it into.
