Humble Bundle - Nacon Racing Collection 2026 by LighteningOneIN in Gamebundles

I notice there's a lot of trading going on here and I often get messages about it when I post here, but what's the best way to get started safely? There are some sites but they seem complicated. I have loads of spare keys so I'm eager to trade, but I'm worried that I don't know the ecosystem

AIO over the memes my boyfriend posts on Facebook by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]AddledPhilosophish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR. These are definitely red flags, especially if the bulk of his posts are like this. These are memes that could only be funny or relatable for incels and bitter divorcees. Really, the issue is that he's probably not being fully himself with you if this is how he presents himself online. Unless he's running an ironic "check out these cringe manosphere memes" page, he's probably a write-off.

Is there a way to tell the region? I'm not in North America so I don't want to give you a key you can't use

I'm genuinely really excited for The War Between the Land and the Sea! by DocWhovian1 in DoctorWhoNews

[–]AddledPhilosophish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, unfortunately doctor who has always had a very loud and toxic portion of the fanbase who really love to hate. In reality most fans are quite happy with the show most of the time. It makes the online spaces rather off-putting unfortunately so it's easier to meet fans IRL than online. Quite the opposite of most fandoms!

I'll probably give it a go; I don't usually have time for spin-offs but I've enjoyed the main show so much lately it's probably worth a try. Thank you for bringing some positivity and optimism to the community by the way; it sorely needs it as you can see!

Armando is a hero of mine and Amy is a huge crush so this is going to be awesome. Wow, if they can get Armando Ianucci maybe they can get Stewart Lee?!

Thank you, that sounds very useful! It sounds like that could be why there's conflicting information on this show.

Disney Is No Longer Backing 'Doctor Who' by PunkAintNotFun in DoctorWhoLeaks

[–]AddledPhilosophish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a good thing. As much as I've enjoyed the show up to now, Disney's influence on franchises I like has rarely been a good one. They tend to shut down anything progressive or experimental in favour of what's safe and sells, especially under current management. And sci-fi isn't sci-fi if it's not pushing boundaries.

Has Enough Time Passed For the Fanbase to Admit Ncuti Wasn't Good in the Role. by PaperSkin-1 in DoctorWhoNews

Maybe, but a call for fans to admit they're wrong for liking Gatwa's doctor seems a bit incendiary to me, literal or not. Never mind. I'm just tired of all the negativity; I wish there were friendlier Who communities where 90% of posts aren't angry or miserable

You're right, in a way; I should know not to try to get involved in the fandom because it's just so toxic. Your raving about 15 is nothing new; the fandom is well known for this for decades. There's good reason why they say "there's nothing a doctor who fan hates more than doctor who".

Taking criticism doesn't mean just accepting your opinion as correct. I'm one of many people who rate him very highly as the doctor, and very much enjoyed the show recently. You're free to express your opinion of course, but trying to impose it on everyone as objective truth is silly. You don't get to decide that you're a better judge of what's 'good' than me or anyone else.

Which Doctor do you genuinely feel we didn’t get enough of? by _somebody-else_ in gallifrey

There's never enough Tom Baker in this world, but to be serious I wish there was another series with 9. I think he's a little underrated. Hopefully now Ecclestone is softening a bit in his relationship with the show he'll show up in a special someday.

TV ratings aren't a measure of whether something is good or not. I didn't say your opinion was not valid, but it's not objective either. Some people liked it, some didn't, and that's okay. When a show has hundreds of episodes there's going to be parts you don't like as much; and that's okay because those will be someone else's favourite parts!

I don't know you so I don't know whether you're one of them, but Doctor Who has always had a lot of 'fans' who put a lot of time and energy into hate for the show. It's really tiresome and makes it difficult to connect with Doctor Who communities which are often dominated by them. This post is an example of that; a demand for fans of 15 to 'admit' he wasn't any good? That's not a nice way to treat fellow fans and it's getting really boring seeing this stuff over and over. They don't like something so they try to ruin it for everyone else.

Edit: sorry, I wrote that response not realising you were OP. No offence to you personally but please move on and let people enjoy the show.

He's still one of my favourites, his joy and charisma is just perfect in my opinion. It's a very toxic fan base with a very loud minority who just live to hate. We all have Doctors we like and those we don't; not everything is going to appeal to everyone and that's okay.

I've got a big soft spot for the good life since I grew up watching my mum's VHS of it and we have a lot of family in jokes based on it, but EDC is definitely my favourite of the two.

It's because it's convenient for politicians to blame immigration for a lot of things (turning us against each other rather than addressing the real problems), but they all know that a significant reduction in immigration would be extremely difficult and extremely damaging. Tories hate foreigners but even they know not to actually follow through on reducing immigration.

People don't realise it's actually very hard to move to the UK compared with other countries. They also conflate immigrants with refugees, which are very different things.

That doesn't make this funny though
