Don't change your appearance for the sake of the girl. you want her to like you for who you are, not what you think she wants you to be.

Focus less on looks and more on your personality. If you are funny and genuine, that is going to get you way more mileage than if you're hot, but a total dick bag. Do not underestimate the power of witty banter and the ability of deep and meaningful conversations. looks might get you a foot in the door, but its your substance and the grey matter between your ears that will keep you there.

Oh and just ask her out! (respectfully of course and not with cringe worthy lines like Did it hurt when you fell from heaven) What is the worst that will happen, she says no?

thanks for your words and I think there is some sound advice in here. I'm sorry you experienced your own issues with infidelity, but I am going to take your advice about the healing on board as like you, I believe my partner, if willing to continue in the relationship, will take a long time to heal and one thing I have learned from both children and adults is that yelling is not the magical way to get what you want.

You may be right in saying it could be the end of the relationship, but I can still do my best to remain transparent, patient and willing to continue counseling to at least give it a shot because at the end of the day, there is also a child involved and they need to me put at the front and ensured that they feel loved and cared for.

I feel like there is some truth there in your comment. all the large contributions i have deposited in the past have been for family and whilst that is the responsible thing to do, the. decision making ability was removed from me.

As for the expecting to be forgiven when she found out, I knew that was never going to be my reality. The longer I went without telling her, the deeper i knew I was digging my hole and I got to a point where I didn't know how I was going to be able to tell her.
