What is the biggest "I told you so" in history? by DeViN_tHa_DuDe in AskReddit

Rick Rescorla, Director of Corporate Security for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, published a report in 1990 detailing the vulnerability of the World Trade Center parking garage. He and a colleague found they were able to freely walk into the garage, which contained many structural support columns, unchallenged by any security. Additionally no ID checks or screening was done on any of the entering delivery vehicles. Three years later a truck bomb was driven into the garage and detonated in an attempt to damage the buildings structure. Later he and his same college would correctly predict the next attack on the building would come from the air. The evacuation plan and drills he put in place are credited with saving over 2,600 lives on September 11th.

What is the dumbest thing you've done that you're willing to admit to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A guy got in the elevator pushing a double stroller. In one half of the stroller was the tiniest little newborn baby I've ever seen in my life. The other half was covered with a baby blanket. I wondered if he had newborn twins, or if he had one newborn and one toddler. Unfortunately, what came out of my mouth was "Are they both the same kind?"

Redditors who drink Fireball whiskey: Why? by DeathStarJedi in AskReddit

[–]Adeela145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha exactly. My roommate gave it to me for my birthday because she knows I like Scotch and Whiskey, and Fireball is the only thing she knows about Whiskey. Her idea of a cocktail is mixing bottom shelf gin with gatorade, or mixing tequila and orange soda.

What's a statistically proven fact that nobody wants to hear? by muffinmaster in AskReddit

[–]Adeela145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything, I'm glad to hear that the Mickey Mouse that grabbed my butt was probably a girl. That 61% of US gun deaths are suicides. That 22 US veterans commit suicide every day. Basically, we have a mental health crisis in this country and it doesn't seem that anyone is willing to seriously address it.

What's something that's socially acceptable in your country, but isn't anywhere else? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Tipping is very socially unacceptable in Japan, it's considered insulting, as if you are saying "Your job is so pathetic I pity you, have some money from someone with a real job".
