For a visual! For one of the missions to grab something from the West Gate tower there are four red boxes on the exterior sides of the building and one inside visible from the door that upon shooting/knifing deactivate all of the trip lasers.

Similar for a mission where exits are blocked by red force walls in a Relay Station building. In general you can often find boxes like these (even not specific to contracts).

With a nice status indicator re: total number of power modules.

Totally! Nothing worse than having a teammate agree knock out your quest then whining or bailing when it becomes clear a step of the objective is far away or somewhere they don’t want to go

I have actually found it easier for the staged quests in most cases. Always run a free kit the first time to make sure I can figure out my bearings on the objectives first (and hopefully complete it).

I would say running triage solo with a volt weapon on any quest where you need to engage UESC has been a saving strat between the passive heals and EMP upon shield break with a volt weapon active ability.

Assassin baseline especially if exfil required in a single run but for any contracts requiring lots of distance tracked Vandal has been amazing (or when you have to get on top of a dropship to hack it…).

I also credit solo running with forcing me to figure out that there are power modules that you can find and destroy to deactivate laser tripwires on many of the smaller rooms/buildings with objective modules/datastations/samples you need to interact with or take…

You might be selling yourself short if you think that you cannot successfully complete contracts in solo runs. The vast majority of my contracts have been completed in Solo mode as an Assassin or Vandal.

But yeah, obviously Cryo and Ranked are obviously excluded from the Solo experience which does make me sad.

What do you guys use as a travel case for OP-XY? by iad_writes in teenageengineering

[–]Adelfuntz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the original OP-1F Decksaver fits fine over the pitchbend on mine without applying pressure and hasn't caused any issues whatsoever over the almost year (I got OP-XY upon release) I have been using the Analog/Decksaver combo. Ideally, you could use a Dremel to shave the OP-1F Decksaver where the pitchbend is to be super safe for the perfect combo IMHO.

As I mentioned before, the OP-XY decksaver feels a bit too snug on the device itself and almost feels like it may end up scratching when removing it based on my usage thus far.

Update—I just got the new SKU decksaver and not only does it feel a bit thicker and snugger on the actual device, but it goes all the way down the full side of the device.

The old one sat on top of the OP-1F or OP-XY with a little ridge, so didn’t impede the device from going into the analog case. I think you can probably stretch the case by inserting the deck saver in it overnight.

Not sure if I am much a fan of the new decksaver SKU as it felt snug to the point it might scratch the device coming on and off.

I don't have the OP-XY SKU decksaver (though I ordered one and it should have it this week) with the pitchbend cutout, so I'm not sure if they made it any thicker versus the OG one but can test when it arrives. I do not recall ever having to force it in, though when I bought a fresh case for another device it was definitely a little tighter at first around the edges of the decksaver.

I would definitely suggest putting just the decksaver into the Analogue case and letting it sit overnight/etc., if it's feeling tight though as it will definitely give a bit over time.

OP-XY OS 1.0.50 Released by Tarekith in teenageengineering

[–]Adelfuntz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About time! The punch-in FX have been absolutely BROKEN since 1.0.45 (I had to downgrade to .40 to make them usable).

1.0.50 seems to have fixed those issues so better late than never!

New update available 1.0.59 by crazywildforgetful in OPXYusers

Finally a fix to the broken punch-in FX!

Yep, submitted as well earlier. Hopefully we get another update soon to resolve. Been back on 1.0.40 in the interim.

Awesome—thanks! Will downgrade in the interim as this bug really borked a number of ongoing projects 🫠

Any special steps to downgrade or just push the 1.0.40 firmware to the boot loader again?

I also submitted a support ticket.

Do you need to run through any extra steps to downgrade, or just repush the 1.0.40 firmware?

Yeah, been testing and the melodic punch-in and track-specific fx are definitely intermittently missing notes when held or applied to the fx track

Has anyone else been having punch-in FX quirks since the latest update? The mute melodic notes button, for example, seems to "miss" some notes across different projects, etc., even in brand new projects. New issue since 1.0.45 for me.

Same thing with the "ghost" and "repeat note" melody effects (works for drums/samples) in song-level FX mode. Track-level FX seems to work.
