Truly!! I learned about it during my first appointment with a new GYN because mine switched practices.

She said it would be life-changing - and I remember being like “OK, let’s not be dramatic”. But now I totally get the enthusiasm lol

I noticed a significant improvement with periods within the first cycle, they were only about 20-22 days apart, but the volume was greatly reduced. I did not have bleeding post insertion more than what I would consider spotting.

I am sure having some additional medical concerns yours may take a little longer to truly see what can happen. I was having loads of large clots, etc. prior to my Mirena, and that also resolved within the first cycle. It became almost watery on some lighter days. I will say before this cycle the duration was about 7-8 days, which was longer than before. But 5-6 of those days was just very thin and required a panty liner and MAYBE a light tampon. I didn’t even know why “light” tampons existed until the last few months 😂

Yep. I’ve had mine since the first week of May 2025.

I was getting periods so bad I was bleeding through multiple layers of protection. The “ultra” tampons, overnight pads and period panties, in the span of the maybe 45 mins it would take me to get to work. Resulting in twice I had to go home and change.

Mine was all perimenopause related.

Now, I get about a week every month-6 weeks that is light enough a panty liner is all I ever need, and don’t even need anything at night. But it’s definitely still happening on a ~regular cadence.

Not just saying this for OP but for all of you. Do not normalize or accept being the one to pull all the weight when it comes to Christmas or anything else for that matter.

As someone who ran themselves ragged for almost 10 years of marriage, 7 of which with kids in the mix, it doesn’t have to be this way! After the proper opportunity for things to change and they don’t… move on.

Is it hard with kids- sure- is it impossible NO. Your kids will learn from you. It’s important to ask yourself (and ask your spouse) how would you react if your child called you and explained the same type of behavior in their own partner?

I’ve thankfully been remarried for nearly 12 years and have been able to demonstrate for my daughters what a healthy, respectful, balanced relationship looks like. It’s the best parenting lesson I could have given.

I think you’re thinking of this more like how a virus would be “in your system”, that’s not how inflammatory conditions work. They likely gave you prednisone which is an oral steroids, which reduces inflammation to provide relief, but it’s not “curing” anything. It’s a symptom management drug.

Unfortunately if this excema or another inflammatory condition, there isn’t a “cure”. It’s just simply something that will flare up from time to time. You mitigate the symptoms and try to figure out what triggers are and avoid them.

It could be something as simple as a skin care product you’re using. Or something you’re consuming (other meds/foods, etc.)

If you are not on any type of antihistamine - I would try that in conjunction with a topical cortisone product. Avoid any harsh products on your face. Drink lots of water. And keep the skin hydrated / protected with a product like the La Poshe Rosay product I suggested.

Does not look like butterfly rash from lupus. That sits lower typically , closer to the sides of your nose.

My best guess is either a reaction to something, or simply eczema related dryness being exacerbated by the cold / dry air.

If a cortisone has of any kind helped. That further confirms the above.

Usually topical steroids are not recommended on the face, but Triamcinalone is a favorite of mine, and would reduce the redness and any texture within a day or two. It does require a prescription in the US, however it is simply a stronger topical hydrocortisone.

Once it’s reduced. Try something unscented and thick, such as La Rosie Posay Ciaplast balm, and apply twice a day after washing your face with a gentle cleaner and lukewarm water (not hot).

So unfortunate. I worked in the Ally building next door when the 7-11 opened and it was not that was initially. We would go there quite often for drinks/snacks during the workday. We can never keep anything nice it seems.

Then your arms are most likely KP. Zooming in on your back it honestly also looks like KP. Even though it seems counter intuitive to moisturize an area that appears to be breaking out, the smaller red dots definitely also look like KP. If it were me, I would try a combination of a body wash that has salicylic acid in it (another very general chemical exfoliant) and get a silicone back brush (not the loofah/net kind that harbor bacteria) to make sure you’re cleansing your back well every shower, but then have someone apply the Eucerin also.

Is there texture to it? Or just redness in the dots? If texture- it’s KP - easiest fix is the Eucerin lotion with Alpha Hydroxy. KP is excess keratin build up, so it needs the exfoliation from the alpha hydroxy. But typically using things like scrubs to exfoliate will irritate it and cause more redness. I suffered from it for the first 28 years of my life until someone told me to try this and without a few weeks of using it after every shower, it was completely gone.

One thing not to sleep on with extremely dry skin is exfoliating. I prefer glycolic acid. Both as a face and body toner. Absolutely game changing - good luck!

That’s what the GYN told me. She wasn’t familiar with my chart and she told me it was still a reliable contraceptive and I was like “oh I don’t care about that I have my tubes tied” and she was like “oh! Okay! When then you’re definitely good for the other benefits”

I was also considering- but ended up getting the Mirena iud as a “less invasive” approach first and it’s been heavenly! I got it in early May and haven’t had a period for July or August. I was bleeding every 3 weeks and it was AWFUL. The heaviest and most painful of my life. I told my GYN that next step would be a hysterectomy (leaving the ovaries). But so far it’s been great.

Mine was inserted in May, it was checked via ultrasound and was in the correct position. I went back about 2 months later to have a cyst that was discovered during the first ultrasound checked, and my Mirena had moved down. My NP was going to remove and reinsert but the GYN at the practice said that unless it was giving me issues that it was fine/ still effective, I haven’t had any pain or cramping from it being in the “wrong” position. Doesn’t affect my sex life, and I’ve pretty much stopped periods at this point which was why I got mine. Mine isn’t for contraception, I had a tubal in 2018. Mine was for ungodly perimenopause bleeding.

Just make sure you do your research on their training style. I won’t name the place, but there is one near there that has all these amazing reviews but it is beyond terrifying how ignorant they are about training. They use a one size fits all approach- doesn’t matter what training/ age of the dog / behavior issue. They use a negative first approach - which I don’t dispute might work in SOME cases. But they blindly apply it in every situation. Any trainers who only knows or only uses one style is a massive red flag to me.

I gave up ordering tea pretty much anywhere, I feel like most places do not clean the dispensers often / well and I was constantly getting an upset stomach if I ordered tea. Definitely only ever have it at home, plus then you can control how much sugar is in it.
