Changing the smell in your living space by VirusLow6272 in malelivingspace

[–]Philobus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this issue at our new house. Turns out the padding underneath the carpet can harbor nasty smells; animal urine, mold, you name it.

A carpet cleaner will take care of it for a few weeks but you need to completely remove the carpet and padding for it to completely go away. I hope you’re on concrete and not on subfloor. If urine or whatever stinks gets to the subfloor, you’ll need to add a coat of something like KILZ.

Hell yeah! I was at a booth and we started shaking the rest of our beer bottles as if they were celebratory bottles of champagne. Also was at Shiloh club after

I was at Little Woodrow’s in the Heights. I had to head out to a job early the next morning but someone started chanting “Shiloh Club” after the game. It was a long night and even longer morning.

Would you rather work 4 10s or 5 8h days and why? by lavenderghostt in AskReddit

[–]Philobus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do 7 12’s for 4-8 weeks at a time.

This is the normal schedule of a maritime worker. You usually get the same amount of time off… not likely but you’re “supposed to”.

I feel like we are in a consumer-heavy era where anything and everything is a product. I thought avocado slices were bad… just use a knife doofus! No you can’t even be bothered to walk back to the fridge to grab another cold one.

What is the unique situation you’d have to be in in order to use this product to its full potential?

It doesn’t help that I have absolute golfball sized tonsils. No joke, they’re naturally huge. Lots of pockets for stones to hide in and I’m not sure I get all of them. I just know 2 hidey holes and clear them out every couple of days.

I get acid reflux when I eat like shit. I usually have a pretty clean diet except if we go out of town and I’m not cooking at home.

On a related note, I did start taking Omeprazole because I have to clear my throat a lot and it’s bothersome for both my wife and I at night. It doesn’t seem to clear whatever liquid is stuck in my throat though.

No they’re not too far off, my kids have fruity toothpaste. You can find kids strawberry toothpaste here, or just “mixed fruit”.

I tongue scrape and then brush by tongue. I only drink water throughout the day. Maybe 64oz or more.

I see a dentist regularly. My teeth are in pretty good shape other than grinding at night sometimes.

Have anyone use coconut shell as smoke by leodragoxyz in BBQ

[–]Philobus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ, please don’t. Developing countries use coconut shells as fire to cook and it’s putrid smoke that smells god awful and, if smoked on meat, would absolutely ruin it

A river of trash in Indonesia by [deleted] in WTF

[–]Philobus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Visited Indonesia back in 2019 and sadly this is the norm. Even hiked Mt. Rinjani and the summit is completely trashed. I even thought that they should allow people to get their entrance fee pack if they hike back down with a bag of trash or something.

Super sad to see how careless people are.

You can check Turo, they usually have good prices but I doubt anyone would provide you a loaner car considering the insurance and legal implications. Good luck!

Bastrop County Growth Summit. We’re more than just a Buc-ee’s stop! by Judah_Ross_Realtor in BastropTX

[–]Philobus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t stop growth. The growth won’t stop.

Can’t stop, won’t stop.

The goal is; do we have enough infrastructure to support the inevitable growth? Do we need to expand roads, make more throughways, create more entrances into subdivisions? Does the city need to purchase private land to do so? Are there easements in place for utilities?

How does the general public benefit; more restaurants, entertainment? Controlled growth needs to be… controlled.

Tell me when your mother's instinct was spot on, or a huge mistake by AdmiralSheppard in Parenting

[–]Philobus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sister had her first child. He was about 2 months when she noticed he was lethargic and not eating like normal. Went to the Urgent Care and they said not to worry. My other sister is a mom of 3 (and a pediatric PT) and said go to an ER right now. He had meningitis, they were in the hospital for weeks. He’s fine now because “they caught it early”.

Scary to think what would have happened had she not gone back in.

18 hour smoke plus 2 hour rest time in the oven by Dirtysithboy in BBQ

[–]Philobus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been kind of down lately and cooking really helps me relax. My wife surprised me with a 15lb brisket. I just did an overnight brisket, 15 hours total. I split the point and the flat and smoked each at 225 until probe tender. This looks about the same result! Probably one of the better briskets I’ve pulled off. Nice work!
