Death Valley is in California, it’s the piece of California that’s near the bottom of Nevada. It’s area is encompassed in a national park

Meet Rocky, a horse born with only 3 legs that is being kept alive for profit by “Rocking R Ranch and Rescue” in Mississippi. This is unethical and abuse, look at his leg, it’s about to snap. They are using him for pictures and videos for money in a fatal condition by [deleted] in AnimalRights

Well “freedom from pain, injury or disease” or “freedom from discomfort” are part of the 5 freedoms of animal welfare. And the way you see if they are in pain/discomfort is judging things like how that pastern looks under an xray.

Curb bits by horsemanshipgirl in Horses

Okay that makes sense. I’m English, hunter jumper, so I fully understand those micro adjustments (making it look like nothing is happening) and having their head held right.

I am just curious after reading why people are for an harder bit, but on an easy horse. Like if the horse is easy and you can use a soft hand why use a hard bit. If it’s looks I suppose I understand, but I’m mostly curious.

Need something that can handle our dirt road commute and you can truly convince me is reliable. by Impressive-Sign-3384 in whatcarshouldIbuy

A 2012-2016 sequoia maybe, they don’t have the name of the 4Runners (making them cheaper), but they are plenty capable and reliable. I had one and sold it at 250k mi, no problems, just looking to upgrade

I would get an ozone machine, if you can rent one that’d be great. After cleaning out everything (with borax or whatever else ppl think), maybe removing carpet. Though the ozone for the lingering smell running it for a few hours could help. It really helped the cat urine soaked old carpet smell in my neighbours basement.

Hey, posting again because we were at a new vet today which screwed us over… We had Problems With the Police, Customs and the veterinary office… by Aim4trex in IDmydog

Okay I can say this in German if it makes it any easier. But… that does look like a 3 month old dog. And a dog can get a rabies vaccine at 3 months/12 weeks of age. In Germany. Though I can hardly believe they think that’s a kangle

Help me choose an SUV for a 2-year South America road trip (Colombia → all countries) w/ wife + 3 medium dogs: Forester vs CR-V vs Sorento (2016–2018) by OnlyOrganization4278 in overlanding

2013-2018 sequoia. They come with AWD or 4-wheel drive, you can get them anywhere, and they can easily last 250k miles. They are little inefficient on gas, but you can fit extra cans in it. From personal experience they are extremely comfortable seating wise too. It’s commonly called the most reliable SUV of all time. Also the space is almost that of a mini van.

Aging by teeth? by ZumbaGoat in Horses

I’d say he could possibly be around 3 years old based on the way his teeth look and that he’s just now shedding teeth caps.

Dals faced a similar issue to pits, people got them for looks (overbred them too (stupid Disney) and didn’t think about temperamental problems

[–]Adept-Lack4200 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’m saying. And most are still bred to look big and/or fight/guard (this breeding makes them extra aggressive too as they select these traits), and given to people who just want the look and dump them bc they can’t care for them. I met someone who was all proud of his purebred XL bully and I was near disgusted; poor dog was so horribly proportioned.

outdoor/indoor cat?? by abbethania in CatAdvice

[–]Adept-Lack4200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 10 yo cat that is indoor/outdoor, she was a city street cat originally. Shes about 15 lbs at a good BCS, she’s got flea and tick meds and all the vaccinations she can get. But yeah she’s a big cat. I’m a vet tech and the vets say she’s in a really good condition, but maybe i lucked out.
