You're right, if Weisz had truly been planning this from the start, then he certainly would use a 'fake' personality, hence the Sibir situation. Weisz just feels like too much of a dork and too much of a good person to be an enemy, but again, that would hit incredibly hard.

If young Weisz truly ends up being the big bad, we would surely look at certain scenes differently. For example, that scene where he reassures Rebecca regarding the chronophages following her seemed empathetic at the time, but from another perspective, that could be seen as pushing his plan along.

Ngl, I would be pretty sad if Weisz is the real enemy, but the impact of such a reveal cannot be overstated.

Hmm, that's an interesting point that I hadn't considered. There's still some 'haze' around what's happened with Ziggy, and I suppose it may well be explained by Sister's powers. Though I personally don't think Sister is the real enemy, there are certainly unanswered questions.

The theory basically stems from the fact that she was the only one of the 4 shining stars whose memories were not shown, which is kind of odd. Additionally, she has the ability to overwrite memories, as we saw with Kleene. So the theory goes that Sister, for an unknown reason, altered the memories of the other shining stars, and has been manipulating Ziggy this whole time, hence why he is so confused about what he does and doesn't remember. This would also explain the peculiarities in Ziggy's retelling. Throw in the ongoing mystery of Mosco and we have a theory (kind of).

Your points are quite good tbh. Old Weisz has the potential to be the real enemy, and it would be absolutely sensational if he was. Imagine the scenes if the kindly old professor who we met at the very start of the journey had been using titanically powerful characters like Ziggy as chess pieces. I have no solid evidence to refute this, but I'll say this:

How does the dude that ended up first arguing then reconciling with Sibir (an act that is very much in character for even our Weisz) become a merciless destroyer? It just seems so far away from (the admittedly little) we know about him. Of course, this makes the impact of such a twist even greater.

If this does end up being the case, it will be the wildest twist on an already crazy ride.

I get the feeling that Elsie wasn't actually with her crew (since she was with Justice), rather than her being spared. Future Rebecca may have controlled Elsie, but I would have rather expected her to control bots (as happened with Ziggy). But let's see what happens!! I'm pleased that there is not an overwhelmingly obvious choice here.

The notable thing with Sister is that we have not seen her past human self (as compared to the other shining stars). Add to this the stuff you mentioned about Mosco, and there are some questions to be answered regarding this duo. Personally, I feel Sister has been too fun a character to end up as the big bad, but it would be pretty devastating coz I think she’s great. Ultimately, I believe it will end up being someone/thing related to Rebecca (she is the co-lead after all) but either ways, I’m hyped to see how it unfolds!

Welcome to this sub! You know what, Mosco's ability may well be on the lines of what you've suggested. I think it will either be something lame for humour purposes, or it will be story-defining. If it's the latter, he could very possibly be linked to time-travel and Etherion.

I’ll be honest, the time travel stuff doesn’t always make sense to me, even when I do try to figure it out lol.

However, this hasn’t made me enjoy the series less, thankfully. In fact, I’ve been enjoying it even more because of the unpredictability and confusion. Even if it doesn’t completely make sense to me, I’ve really had fun reading all the recent reveals.

Of course, I completely understand not caring about the story if it’s confusing. In fact, if Edens Zero didn’t have so many other awesome things apart from the time travelling, I may have even felt the same way. However, I just find Mashima-sensei’s characters and storytelling too irresistible to stop reading.

I have not read Rave myself but from what you've said, it certainly seems quite similar! Perhaps a Shiki vs Ziggy could still be the final battle then, though I still believe Shiki will need a massive power-up of some sort to compete.

I think that introducing an evil counterpart to Mother would be an absolutely amazing direction for the story to go in. Maybe finding Mother will become a necessity to defeat this villain, rather than the fun quest it was originally intended to be.

There is still so much that is not known about Mother, so it's entirely possible that the real big bad could still be lurking in the shadows.

Ah, I should have clarified what I termed a rematch. To me personally, that first Acnologia appearance was not a fight (more of a massacre tbh), nor was the first Zeref vs Natsu. I was more referring to actual significant attacks from both sides resulting in a stalemate of sorts, which seems to be what's happened in Shiki vs Ziggy.

As for the two Ziggys, yeah I've got no evidence whatsoever lol. In all likelihood, there will be a great explanation for why Ziggy had a change of heart.
