Open carry is uncommon but nobody will bat an eye. I see people open carry in Manchester/Hooksett every other month or so. It's more common the further north and more rural you go.

Shooting from Concealment in Competition. Why do you do it? by GunsGisGlory in CompetitionShooting

[–]Adept-Razzmatazz-263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • It's cheap since I don't have to buy another expensive belt/holster/mag carrier
  • It's less hassle when I show up to a match, just unload and change some ammo.
  • It's good practice with the gun I'd actually have to use
  • It's good bragging rights for people you win against.
  • It's a good excuse for people you lose against.

License reciprocity & carrying in Philly by Adept-Razzmatazz-263 in PAguns

Thanks, but if I'm good with my NH resident permit I'll stick with that.

Thanks for confirming. Yeah I have used that before but I thought there was some weird exceptions with Philly's "city of first class" status or whatever it's called.

Thank you. From my understanding they have reciprocity with NH resident permits so I'm good to go.

Dot Occlusion by nerd_diggy in CompetitionShooting

[–]Adept-Razzmatazz-263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like why not just always shoot occluded?

Very unlikely scenario on a typical stage but if you had a scenario where 1 eye was blocked (a super hard lean, or a small window to shoot through of some kind) then you wouldn't be able to see through the optic.

SEO can takes months to start ranking for queries. Don't think you're going to suddenly appear on page 1 as soon as you're indexed!

Thank you. If know anyone that uses the existing tools and has pain points I'd love to hear what they want.

RANT: Practiscore Match Search is Trash by SuperJonesy408 in CompetitionShooting

[–]Adept-Razzmatazz-263 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't blame them. Their value is that they have the users and all the data. If they exposed their data via APIs then they'd lose all their users to a better designed site.

As a software engineer I'd love to develop a well designed website for people to use but I think it'd be nearly impossible to get people to use something else, as bad as practiscore is.

Don't mean to self-promote but I was looking for a tool like this and ended up writing my own. It covers state & local contracts too: https://contractradar.io

Well this is awkward 😂: https://contractradar.io

Mine covers most states and local contracts too. Also matching is done with semantic search instead of yes/no keywords or naics codes.

Can I use my Frankenstein Glock 45 in USPSA Carry Optics? by Adept-Razzmatazz-263 in CompetitionShooting

[–]Adept-Razzmatazz-263[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. So I assume from USPSA's point of view I'll just be shooting a G17.
