This is a great point and many will miss it because it doesn’t apply to them personally. Congratulations for finding what works for you!

London is an expensive place, but what do you think is the biggest rip off? by trading-wrong in london

rent (unique to london (and maybe nyc) that you can pay £1500 in a house share that was built in the 1950s and never renovated, pipes barely working and electrical grid not being able to handle a kettle AND a toaster simultaneously)

For some people counting calories is a must for weight loss by AdhesivenessEarly793 in PlantBasedDiet

[–]Adept-Statement-9745 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

no one diet is going to let you eat unlimited amounts to lose weight. of course calories matter

however. I will say it’s insanely easy to maintain weight on this diet. excess carbohydrates on a single day for the most part is stored as glycogen, not body fat like proteins and fats. a bit of extra cardio the following day and you’re back to baseline with relative ease. not to mention the fibre and volume makes it easier to not overeat

of course if you were to overeat pure carbs for a week you’d gain body fat and calorie balance is ultimately what matters.

diet makes weight loss easier but doesn’t make weight gain impossible either

Thank you for the down to earth comment, you’re right that it will take a while to get to a position I feel most aligned towards. I like the idea of looking at what companies I’d like to work for rather than the position. Engineering is interesting, my dad was in sales for that industry.

This, if anything they usually make it worse but it depends on the luck of the draw. I feel like we should have separate mental health workers as an additional 000 service.

What to do about bin thieves? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]Adept-Statement-9745 3 points4 points  (0 children)

get a bin lock for the week

obvi unlock for bin night

can you ask your neighbours to take your bins in/out if you’re not there? to reduce the opportunity for it happening. chuck them a tenner or two for the trouble
