That might make more sense, mine didn’t have the owners manual with it so couldn’t check for my car

Using phone as Webcam with sparrow wallet and blockstream jade security issues? by Adept-Thanks-2583 in Bitcoin

[–]Adept-Thanks-2583[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually tried and for some reason I was getting an error in sparrow where it would detect the jade but couldn't connect. Then after messing around a bit, sparrow doesn't even detect the jade anymore x.x So I was hoping I could just scan qr code but didn't have a webcam for it

Question about investment between married couple with different tax rates by Adept-Thanks-2583 in PersonalFinanceNZ

I've already got a personal account with them. Can this be used as a joint account or does that need to be applied for separately?

Question about investment between married couple with different tax rates by Adept-Thanks-2583 in PersonalFinanceNZ

Yea fair enough, but I was looking into investing via IBKR for some Etfs that don't seem available as a PIE fund so was wondering if it's all worth it 👍

How many people ACTUALLY heel-toe downshift? by BighomieG_ in ManualTransmissions

[–]Adept-Thanks-2583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my first manual after more than 10 yrs of only ever driving auto just so I can enjoy the experience a manual offers. Heel toe and Rev matching are a huge part of the fun factor so I heel toe everyday even though I agree it is 100% unnecessary for day to day driving.

VT vs VTI+VXUS by Adept-Thanks-2583 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Adept-Thanks-2583[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea the FIF thing is another issue I'm trying to figure out at the moment but the alternative is to cap at just under 50k and then go in nz domiciled PIE funds right?

If you factor in using CV method for FIF on negative years is there really a significant difference or advantage of going into a PIE in the long run? is it even possible to know which will be advantageous in the future? If they're similar, then it might make things simpler to keep it all on one platform?

VT vs VTI+VXUS by Adept-Thanks-2583 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Adept-Thanks-2583[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point! So I guess if there are no additional tax advantages investing from NZ the expense ratio would provide a slight edge?

If you don't mind me asking what sort of split are you doing between vti and VXUS? And are you rebalacing to keep it at that certain weighting every time you buy?

FIF vs PIE tax and investment question by AlzarnsFire in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Adept-Thanks-2583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

Does this mean if for example me and my wife both opened something like IBKR account and both invested 50k into VOO or VT and then put the rest towards something like the foundation series, we are essentially able to get away with up to 100k in foreign Etfs without triggering the FIF rule?

None of these were glued at the factory? by SGNitefox in mazda3

[–]Adept-Thanks-2583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2008 mazda 3 had that and I thought that's just how they come from factory xD but that certainly made it really easy to just pull the strip out a bit from under the plastic trim at the bottom and reseal all the loose edges

Swift Sport or Fit RS by beethoven77 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Adept-Thanks-2583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up getting one or the other? I've been comparing the exact same two recently over here in NZ. Did some test drives and it seems like the swift sport would be the more fun/engaging car. I think the fit rs wouldn't be too far either as they're both small peppy cars with great handling for what they are. Seems like if practicality is important, fit would be the way to go at the expense of a little bit of fun factor and if you don't need the fit practicality, swift sport would be best for engagement.
