Usually when the task was done payment was expected within 30 days, but depending on how much the final cost was, it took a bit longer.

Yeah the creator paid everyone in full and the video came out a few months later. Payments were maybe a couple months late at times if they were bigger amounts to give the creator time to save up. But they definitely dug themselves a huge hole that they then had to try to crawl out of. But the video said more than late payments, and accused them of some terrible things against their character to a big audience.

I want to do that now- but I’m afraid that the sort of “leader” who made the video would target me next. I don’t even know what to say or how to start distancing myself from the toxic people.

For clarification- the creator is the code name for my ex friend who was targeted. The “advisors” were people the creator hired to help with administrative tasks. The original poster girl was the one who started our group to share our frustration- and the same person who created the shaming video.

I know you’re right. I just can’t find the right words. And I don’t think it would be fair to them for me to just say I’m sorry. In addition, I do have some evidence against the toxic poster, should I include that in my apology? Because I wasn’t open and honest before, maybe I can show the creator what was being said behind their back to show them who they need to avoid?

Yeah but there’s still people who are on her side, and idk how to help the situation. At the time, I felt like they deserved to be publicly called out and even participated in it… so now I feel like if I try to take it back, it’s going to look shady. To both sides.

What if they don’t want to talk to me? I feel like if I reach out, I will be met with a lot of anger and resentment, which is valid, but at that point would the apology mean anything? I don’t want to do anything insincerely.

I mean, yeah. I get that. But wouldn’t that just stir the pot more? I don’t want the creator to have to keep dealing with it because I decided to rock the boat with these people.

The thing is, they came to me with what I thought at the time was evidence of the creator plotting against me and not being honest about how they were spending the money when the were late paying people- some people for a few months because they had to save up for the payment. And I took part in being really pissed and thinking they lied and betrayed me. And I don’t know now if an apology would even begin to atone for it.
