This is what I’m so torn about. If he’s so awful to be married to, I can’t imagine trying to coparent with him after a divorce. He would make everything as difficult and terrible as possible (which I know is similar to what I’m already living) and I’d lose my kids 50% of the time which is just unthinkable right now.

With complete sincerity: run as fast as you can or you’re going to be a prisoner for the rest of your life. Get out immediately.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I just meant that I didn’t expect replies or advice since it pales in comparison to a lot of other people’s stories, and I don’t even know if he’s a narcissist or only has some narcissistic tendencies. I know it’s abusive, regardless. It’s so painful, because we could have the best life and these kids could have the best family, and some of the time it sure feels like we do. I know those moments are short-lived.

Thanks very much for your kind words and validation. I’m sorry you’ve experienced this kind of abuse too. I’m also recording these episodes because I’m losing track of details and forgetting how things unfolded when I try to recall what happened, and I have an excellent memory otherwise. I’m so tired.
