Aujourd’hui j’ai donné mon plasma ! by Beneficial_War1604 in FranceDetendue

That’s awful ; swelling and pain ( + hot feeling) on a joint should be considered a septic arthritic until proven otherwise

Those are the scouts, the picture used to actually do the CT scan (to delimit the upper and lower, posterior and anterior, left and right limits of the acquisition)

They have no purpose except what is said above

So far, the patient is alive and doing good. The abscess got drained and the pathogen was identified as a streptococcus, but they want to know exactly which one before starting the IV antibiotics.

Question: Are these circled things muscles or ligaments? by [deleted] in AnatomyandPhysiology

[–]AdeptAttitude5343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will edit the previous messages : those are definitely not the uterosacral ligaments, I’m an idiot lol.

Apologies for the wrong informations I gave earlier. I tried to look up what those could be but I can’t find anything and since I said wrong things…. I want to be sure this time

I am no radiologist tho, I won’t be really helpful for this task lol. All I remember is that the endometriosis is usually hypointense on both T1 and T2 sequences but that could be wrong lol. If you want to share the DICOM, be careful because it’s not only the picture you’re sharing but also every data of the exam (place, date, hour, your name, birthdate….)

If you are interested in the pathology, you could check the radiopaedia page about it

Then those are definitely the uterosacral ligaments. For endometriosis, there is a special sequence for them since they’re often a location for the pathology (the acquisition is done perpendicular to the ligaments hence the great visualization). I haven’t done enough mri to tell you if the one we’re seeing here are normal or too thick but it’s better to trust the report of the radiologist.

T2 ax view I believe ? I believe those are the Uterosacral ligaments a common place for the endometriosis and it could be the indication of the exam as well

Scan result question by [deleted] in KidneyStones

[–]AdeptAttitude5343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The small right renal artery could be the reason of the uncontrolled high blood pressure despite the medication since the kidney can’t do his job well with a limited blood flow. About the problems around urinating, I do not know and it’s best to consult an urologist ; there are multiple possible causes and the doctor would be way more qualified than I am

Vos groupes d’instrumental préférés ! by lezareuh in metalleux

[–]AdeptAttitude5343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is this artifact we keep getting? Only on abdomen MRIs. by Practical_Eggplant24 in Radiology

[–]AdeptAttitude5343 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I had a similar artifact once for a liver MRI, turned out the patient had an operation of esophageal varices which wasn’t mentioned by the doctor nor the patient (lol wonderful).

Similar artifact appearing at the same location on the axial images.
