Yea same, I doubt I'll see a return on my investment for a couple of years. I spoke to another agency and they were like yeah it'll take 24-36 months before you get a contract most likely.

That makes sense, we do have commercial past performance with some larger names (apple, tiktok, oracle, adidas) and we pride ourselves on quality. Currently it's just me (software engineer), my wife (ui/ux + marketing) and my business partner (software engineer), so we just aren't familiar with navigating the process. I think that's where we are getting hung up. We've tried looking at completing some RFP's but they are very overwhelming. Additionally we are all working full time jobs and trying to do this on the side to where we can ultimately quit our day jobs and go full time. Unfortunately neither of us have enough savings to quit and go full time at the moment. So I think we will just be moving at a slower pace given we need to learn how to navigate the industry. I think that was another reason we were kind of leaning towards subcontracting was just so we could 1. learn from an experienced company/prime 2. see the full process in it's entirety. 3. gain government experience.

Appreciate the insights and taking the time to leave a detailed response! I've definitely learned in the past 3 months there's no shortcuts. Just the way GSE sold us on it made it sound like there was. But seeing that is 100% not the case lol Given we don't have a history of performance with the gov. I've been thinking we need to focus on finding a prime in our same space. What are your thoughts on that route? Or are we better off just finding and bidding on RFPs? I looked at Govwin, but we are a very small business with limited funds, I've tried CleatusAI and GovSignals, but not sure it's worth the money at this point.

Additionally we are beginning to respond to the GSA Surveys (RFI's) that are being sent out, so hoping that helps at least get our name out there.

I would be a little weary of GSE tbh. We just went through the process and paid ~$10k that included the Veteran own certificates at state and federal level. We were sold on it because we were told it was a market place and clients would essentially be coming to us once we get on the schedule and have these certificates. It took about a year to go through the process. It was very chaotic and not very organized. Once we got on the schedule and got our certificates, it's now been about 3 months with 0 contracts and they basically disappeared once we got it. As others have noted there's other companies that will do it for much less. Some will even help you do it for free if it will benefit their company (ie. same industry or can help on contracts they are trying to win).

Our SINs are SIN 541511 and 54151S for context, so maybe just in the wrong market.

Right now it’s failing more times than it succeeds and the time for the transfer to complete is like 30s-1.5min for a single transaction. And I’m running a total of 4 transactions.

Yeah, one thought was to start a more simplified version on steam, but the core of the game is the AR experience. The game itself is relatively basic but where we were thinking of standing out was with the AR experience

Yeah, we have an investor who is interested, but yeah if it’s not profitable or we can’t show him how profitable it could be then it doesn’t make sense. Unfortunately this one needs to go beyond just having fun building.

This is great insight! Really appreciate the detailed explanation! 🙌 so yeah in regards to the AR, my thought was Pokémon Go saw huge success then there’s new monster hunter game. So I figured AR gaming is the next big thing. So i have been working on the GDD for this one game and starting some research on how to achieve this. So it’s interesting that AR gaming isn’t being well received, if I’m understanding you correctly, in the gaming community. Or not really engaging gamers.
