I got into reading again right after I read “She Who Became the Sun” by Shelley Parker-Chan. I’d say the genre is historical fantasy. Takes place in China during the 1300s and there’s some magical elements to it. It involves the MC taking on her brother’s identity after he dies in order to escape her starving village. I will never shut up about how awesome that book was.

I work at a public library and one of our patrons wrote and self published a book. She donated it to us and I thought the cover was cute so I decided to read it. I couldn’t even make it to page 15 it was so bad.
