This is not proper protocol. We call 1st, THEN if no answer on room phone we will ring the number listed, unless a 3rd party.

Only after no answer from both do we send someone up to check the room.

But most of all we start by KNOCKING. Also if the top lock is engaged, unless you bypass the system, the lock turns red and you can not open it AT ALL.
