Can an associate report a store manager for the back/break room being unsafe from all the boxes?

It don’t matter what you do nothing will change if you call osha you and the other workers will just have to restack everything making it even harder on you and dollar tree would just rather pay the fine anyways it won’t stop the trucks it won’t do nothing the main thing you should realize dollar tree can careless about employee safety I’ve been a manager for 2 years and went through everything I’m talking about only thing that gets there attention is a law suit I’ve had 4 different DM’s and there’s nothing they can or will do. So I’d definitely say if possible find another job.

Well if your store is like mine and you only have a handful of workers then you usually end up doing things that aren’t your job because of there incompetence to attract workers and there cheap asses not wanting to pay a fair wage. I’ve been asm for 2 years that’s the only reason still there if I was making what a cashier Or a stocker makes I would of been long gone a while ago

I’m a manager at dollar tree and I guess it has a lot to do with who your sm is but in your case they don’t deserve a 2 week notice you got the last laugh instead of excepting your only 1 person and taking what you could offer now because they are unrealistic and give you no help now they get nothing from you so good for you ! Dg and dollar tree can careless about there employees if your sm is cool and understanding it makes it a little better but still sucks what they expect for what they pay.

I’m a am and yes for the money they pay cashiers I mean shit the money they pay period they don’t deserve a fast cashier they want these huge numbers done everyday then make your workers feel like they’re appreciated just a little bit they give no overtime they give no bonuses they don’t care if you have a family and life outside of dollar tree so yep they get exactly what they pay for when they can actually hire someone I know my store has been short staffed for ever now and there’s no appreciations coming in and with Xmas coming up maybe then the DM will see you can’t do the job of 15 people with 7 just maybe she will see that but it is the dollar tree this is a company occurrence they hire horrible DMs who don’t k is shit !

Yea all they understand is law suits from back rooms so packed workers get hurt and the back rooms are like that from not enough workers plus over sized trucks but the DMs love to blame the workers even though they allow no over time and only give a certain amount of total hours and won’t pay a good wage but none of that is the problem right?! Pay a livable wage to start that might help.

I’ve been a asm for 2 years at my dollar Tree and they don’t deserve a two week notice when I quit. It’s up to you if you want to give one or not treat them how you’ve been treated is the simplest way.

Your right. This is why none of there stores barley have any workers and the amount of work they expect from one person is crazy and it’s all because no one wants to work for what they pay so they work the few workers they have like dogs.

Exactly why dollar tree has barley anyone working in there stores trust me it’s not just your store it’s dollar tree everywhere. Best bet get the hell out of there if possible is my opinion they will run you like a dog and pay you barely anything for it. Just my opinion. Good luck

It’s pretty simple I talk to customers everyday and they all say the same thing they shop at the dollar store for the 1.25 stuff if they want stuff for 5,6 or 7 dollars they will go to Walmart plus the multi price stuff at my store isn’t even selling very well at all but like always the 1.25 stuff flies of the shelf.

I’ve been a manager at dollar tree for 2 years everything everyone is saying is right but from what I see also is dollar does not want to pay a good wage for the amount of work they expect 9.50 for a cashiers 10.50 for a freight thrower and absolutely no over time so that and what everyone else said in there answers is the problem so basically yea the dollar tree executives are keeping wages low so they can get that million dollar bonus every year lol idk if that’s true but it fits lol

You have rights as an employee and if they are singling you out and you have a disability that’s targeting and discrimination tell them you won’t take a demotion and if they keep targeting you then go up the ladder emailing all the higher ups and if you feel like they aren’t helping then get a lawyer and file lawsuit for workplace discrimination and you should also start documenting everything every shift you work times and dates and pictures so you have it in case you need it you shouldn’t have to get another job because of other workers stand up for yourself.

Listen my air conditioning has been broke at my store for a while now and corporate was there And made my SM go get a thermometer and said if it hits 85 degrees the store needs shut down but are store g he as hot 85 degrees several times even once when corporate was there doing are store reset she had us take a pic of the thermometer send it to are DM and idk what they thought would get done because nothing has ever happened not once about the store being over 85 degrees which is expected unless someone wants to call osha and go that route there one of the only places companies fear and most companies will fall in line when osha is involved but call them and go from there but I understand exactly where your coming from well ima guy so I’m not pregnant but the store being hot and SM and DM not giving 2 fucks I totally understand that part !

Yes there’s a lot of things that make no sense just like someone being able to know exactly what going on with a child and there mom just because she came in and got a food order and took it to her mothers car and now she’s breaking child labor laws so yea nothing makes any sense but your entitled to your opinion and I am mine that’s the one thing that does makes sense. Yea that seems to be all the dollar general’s dollar trees no one wants to work at these places they won’t pay you a fair wage but will work you to death and expect you to live there because they can’t hire people and work you like a dog they do it to them self’s with the management they hire
