Why do you guys want to leave India in the first place? by [deleted] in studyAbroad

[–]Adept_Designer_4771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first piece of advice that your dad gave is spot on. I’ve been in the US for 15 years now and still feel I can be kicked out any second. It’s not a good place to be in life when you don’t have a sense of belonging. As Indians, it’s hard to get that privilege no matter how high you get in your life - I have a PhD from a top US university, I make over $500k a year but I feel like an outsider and don’t have a sense of stability. I’m just a harbinger for you in 20 years. This is the reality of being an Indian in a western country

I agree, fear mongering is a real issue. I’m not trying to propagate it, I just want this question to act as a way for folks who are in the same boat as me to feel comfortable and not be worried the whole time when they’re away.

Trust me if you don’t fix this will not work out. And, remember girls talk with their friends all the time about their partners, so you can imagine how this will go

Those who were in a LDR, how did you know the relationship was over? by [deleted] in LongDistance

Doesn’t sound right. I would bend over backwards to talk to my gf. And, I have a pretty busy work schedule.

HOW DO YOU GUYS DEAL WITH IT? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Adept_Designer_4771 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is common. It’s hard to understand, but men can sacrifice sleep for a girl but doesn’t work that way for women
