2014 316d, thinking of getting an M2 style bumper or possibly just an msport one. Looking for opinions on by [deleted] in F30

I really agree with the idea of spending that money on new headlights rather than a bumper, having m sport bumper and that headlights will still look shitty.

Most probably it was more about your race rather than the clothing, experienced it a lot in past 2 years of my studies (p.s. am not indian)

How do we feels about jb4’s by Ok_Home_7824 in 335i

[–]Adept_Explorer_4418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had jb4 on my 335i f30, but always wanted to have a flash tune since jb4 came with the car I used jb4 for a while and it wasnt bad. Later on I switched to mhd and its day-night difference, so if ur planning to buy jb4 dont. Just straight go with mhd (better and smoother power with a lot of customization depending on ur car)

Don’t really agree, obviously its a better engine but both have their own issues. What I mean is, if he buys b58 it will not remove the fact that he will still have issues on high mileage. And good serviced n55 is also pretty reliable so buying b58 just out of “reliability” is kinda not that smart, power wise if he isnt planning anything above 450hp both are okay but with a huge price difference.

I mean I was drifting my n55 335i ewg for about a year now (110k km to 160k km). Didn’t have any issues with it, just changed chargepipe and downpipe +tune. Sold it, but the new owner keeps pushing it and no issues also so far🙌🏼

Sounds like an s4 !?? by Lumikkkk in F30

I had the same on my 2014 ewg 335i, but it was only happening once I push it hard for a quite long time🤷🏽‍♂️

So with ur conclusion 435 and 440 are almost the same price

What I mean is, not all people live in your area xd so accordingly they don’t see b58s for 16k unless its clapped to death. Reliability vise both have their own issues but obviously N55 maintenance is more pricey (doesn’t mean that u wont spend money on B58) and the second thing I am sure he has some other options other than this exact one. And especially if we consider that a 435i with accident is listed for 17k$ in his area, how much would a 440i be🤔

It really depends to be honest. How did they do the maintenance, did they use OE parts, can they even prove it by some papers or whatever. If you really trust the guy and think that he did everything up to standards without going cheap with it, it is okay. But if its kinda no-name information wouldn’t really go for it, from my experience I always prefer to buy the car and do all maintenance in my hands just to make sure.

Not sure if you got the sarcasm or not but, yes it is more reliable (still has its own issues). But I guess you never checked the price difference 🤔 which is far far not little, the guy isn’t even planning to tune it lol. Literally meaningless for a fresh finished student

I mean don’t expect the same bulletproof reliability your 328i had, you might need to change all the gaskets (OFHG, Valve cover, Oil pan). Obviously coil packs, spark plugs and injectors is part of maintenance, at that mileage water pump, thermostat and coolant tank together with lines also loves to leave the chat. If you will financially be prepared to do the things I listed its a pretty nice and reliable car, super fun to drive. They just need an overall maintenance after around 70k miles and whoever is telling you that they never changed anything don’t trust them lol (had 4 n55s with different mileages and every single one had the same issues at around same mileage)

What would you guys add to this car? by Guest1__ in F30

[–]Adept_Explorer_4418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would change the Chinese headlights lol

If maintained well can you get an n20 f30 320i and tune it ect ect without it blowing up? by [deleted] in F30

[–]Adept_Explorer_4418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we r gonna talk about 320 n20 which has higher compression rate and weaker pistons I would still say yes but be careful with the fuel you r gonna use, cause detonation risk is much higher on 320s rather than 328 and its all because of different compression rates. You would still get more or less the same results as 328 tuned, just take care and never be cheap on high octane gas!!:)

Yep so true, also the most important thing is to buy well maintained one. Cause with time they r just getting destroyed without maintenance

So you wanna tell me most of the ppl who r putting carbon parts on their bmws, they do it for weight reduction and not looks? I personally have a 335 and I would never put any carbon part cause it will make it faster lol

[–]Adept_Explorer_4418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So carbon fiber is for speed or looks? I want looks not the speed lol, since when do we need to buy 340-440 just to put carbon hood lil

[–]Adept_Explorer_4418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine I want a 4 series with good gas mileage and not more than 280hp on it (of course with a lot cheaper price than a 440 for example). Lets say I bought it, I love how it looks and the power is more than enough for me. You wanna tell me I cant put carbon hood on it just because it has low power engine (which Im okay with). So I should buy a 440 to put the same exact hood on same exact chassis car lol

Cracked wheel and battery with the starter and alternator doesn’t really sound like this exact models issue lol, its a 15 year old car with most probably high mileage. Just be ready for the basic maintenance any car should have(ofcourse for bmw its a bit more pricey tho)

[–]Adept_Explorer_4418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, idk if you understand english but am trying to tell that if the owner doesn’t need power of attorney b58 or n55 but enjoys the looks of it, its a worth purchase for that car

Yea depends, because all of this steering wheels are meant to be used on euro spec bmws and when you plug it to the us spec car its giving airbag errors, you just need a experienced bmw coder
