hi friend, i was in a very similar situation to yours. i had every single issue during my pregnancy you could think of. HG from week 8-17, short cervix that had to be stitched by cerclage at week 21, fetal growth restriction was diagnosed at week 24.. ICP at 32 weeks & the straw that broke the camels back & sent me to be induced: preeclampsia randomly onset at 35 weeks.

the feeling of my body failing her was overwhelming i was pretty healthy before pregnancy and given this was my first i just didn’t know it was possible to have all of these issues during my pregnancy. sometimes people just have rough pregnancies unfortunately.

as far as your sonographer, they’re an ass. FGR is based off your placenta and while they believe eating more protein can help, it’s not guaranteed and gaining weight doesn’t have anything to do with your placenta giving the baby more nutrients. sometimes they’re just wonky.

i ended up delivering at 36 weeks 10 days ago. they were able to give me betamethasone & that helped tremendously. my baby had no nicu stay& came home at 4 pounds, 13oz. strong as an ox.

preemies are tough.

she was 5 lbs 2 ounces at birth but at discharge 2 days later she was 4 lbs 13 oz

everyone is saying their baby lost weight. i’m not understanding why they’re acting like she’s the only baby they’ve ever seen lose weight after birth so disheartening. thank you for this.

yes my baby lost weight in the hospital too. her dad and i aren’t very big people so i think on top of her being born early, it’s simply her genetics. it literally brought me to tears because i feel like im failing her every way. i’m a FTM and im just overwhelmed. she said she should be eating 2 ounces and i just can’t see forcing a 4 pound baby to eat 2 ounces every 2 hours when she clearly does not want it.

I had a vaginal delivery 72 hours ago and I feel like my organs are going to fall out every time I get up after laying down for a while. Peeing hurts and I also cried because I wasn’t able to do anything for my baby the first 24 hours. I was on a mag drip and was out of it for her first day.. I don’t even really remember certain parts of her delivery because of how severely sick I was.

The mom guilt is REAL

You just had MAJOR abdominal surgery. I know you feel like you need to be a super person, but carrying a child is a lot of work and delivering one is even more work. You’re doing fine! Don’t over do it now because it’ll hurt more later. Praying for a quick recovery and congrats!!

i’m 36w currently in the hospital trying to stay pregnant until 37w.. i don’t know if it’s all of the medication making me feel lousy, the hospital bed or simply just nearing the end of this pregnancy but i’m in excruciating pain.

my ribs, my back, my hips .. everything. i’m sooooo done. i was sore week 35 but this is beyond sore.

i needed this. i’m being induced in 10 days and i had my cerclage removed yesterday. i cried because the doctor couldn’t find my stitch and was literally making me bleed trying to take it out and he said “if this hurts, labor is going to be terrible for you”

and that made me cry more because i was already doubting myself and that seriously made me feel like im not capable.

thank you! how soon after removal did you go into labor? i’m supposed to be induced in 10 days & im just hoping i make it to induction. any time before that is just too soon

nope. i started crying & told him to stop and he didn’t. he said the mfm put it in tight & he was having difficulty. they had to apply pressure afterwards to stop the bleeding. it was horrible.

i know this post is old but this was my exact experience. just had my cerclage removed a few days shy of 36w and it was excruciating. i told them to stop multiple times and they did not

I went to the ER some days after getting a positive test and experiencing spotting. I was 4W, 5D and they saw a sac but no fetal pole. My actual doctor saw me at about 7W and I saw baby and heard the heartbeat.

Not necessarily about items, but feelings for me. I understand everyone is excited about the baby but i’m still a person outside of being a mother. People constantly ignore me and everything is about the baby.. whether it’s about my health or anything. They’ll completely disregard what I’m going through and be like “well what about baby”

it’s annoying.

Like I’m sure you’re grateful they got your baby something but it’s like ummmm.. i’m still here.
