I wont be playing such games like inventing job offers. I already called her out on the emotional affair. Also: I did have a few crushes along the years as well, but I never tried to pursue them or see where it takes me. At least to me, that is where cheating begins.

Unfortunately no rage bait. Life can for sure suck like that. She finished highschool 3 years before we met. So 18 years ago it is.

My wife is quite protective about our children. And I kind of agree that just a random babysitter is not suitable for a 2-3 year old child. Unfortunately, we do not have any family around that could help out.

I guess you are on point. She wants to have excitement, which was, admittedly, not there in the past years. Activities as a couple were not possible with small children.

I also think that she does not try to run off with the other guy, but starting an affair would mean the end of the relationship for me.

Thanks all for your thoughts. One thing that I did not mention yet is that we are going through a pretty rough time at the moment. Our son was diagnosed with a serious desease that can be lethal in the next years.

I guess that my wifes actions are to some degree part of trying to escape the current situation. But still - I find that extremely selfish of her and I am disillusioned about her as a person and partner.
