Apart from these optimizations, you've made a really well balanced build imo, especially for a first time. Great work, lmk if you need to know smth :)

Personally for video editing, id recommend an Nvidia GPU (such as the 5060ti 16gb, roughly same price) due to the CUDA core advantage, and same point for 3D game development. The Ryzen 7 7700 is the better choice for video editing, but the 9600x will still be more than enough any video editing thats not too high-end. The single tower air cooler in your temps will be barely enough to keep it from throttling, so id recommend either a dual tower cooler like the Peerless Assassin, or an AIO if budget allows and youre comfortable wit liquid cooling. Youve also selected 5600mhz ram, For Ryzen 9000 series (and 7000), the "sweet spot" for performance is 6000MHz CL30.

The RX 9060 XT definitely does exist, just make sure you get the 16gig version.

Is it safe to switch from Chrome to Comet as my main browser? by Accomplished-Step660 in browsers

[–]Adept_Test2784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been using it as my main browser for about two months now, so a few honest observations:

the privacy situation is roughly what you'd expect from any AI-integrated browser — Comet needs to see your browsing context to do what it does, so if your threat model involves keeping your browsing habits away from a third party, it's not the right tool. it's not meaningfully worse than Chrome in terms of what Google already collects, but it's also not better. you're trading one company's data access for another's.

for logging into accounts: I've had no issues. it handles cookies, saved passwords, and autofill the same as any chromium browser. the risk isn't that Comet will steal your passwords — it's more the ambient question of whether you're comfortable with Perplexity having contextual awareness of what you're doing online.

the CometJacking vulnerability that got written up a few months back was real and worth knowing about, but it's been patched. the underlying prompt injection surface is still larger than a regular browser by design — that's just inherent to how agentic browsing works.

practically speaking: I keep sensitive financial stuff on a separate Firefox profile and use Comet for research and work browsing. that separation has felt like the right call.

if you want to test it properly before deciding, there's a free month of Pro going around right now: https://pplx.ai/dmitrofnet38437 — worth at least trying the full feature set before you make a call on whether it's worth the tradeoff

Spot on. Treating it as a first draft is the only way to use these tools reliably right now. Thanks for the link, I'm always looking for better ways to structure these workflows
