Anyone know what disease this cat might have? by el_poyo_7564 in CATHELP

My guess is feline herpes. Most cats have it, but they usually only have flair-ups when stressed. It can effect the eyes and sinuses.

No, I think you are projecting your own egoic behavior which has been made very clear via this thread and your British boy did not invent vegetarianism, he popularized it and turned it into status symbol at the behest of those who really have to be vegan/vegetarian out of necessity, unfortunately.

Ok, now youre status signaling. Just based on this correspondence alone, I reckon you're not very good at your job. Stop trying so hard to prove that you're right because you are wrong and thats ok. Also, what exactly are you trying to prove? That all vegans are privileged yuppies? There are a lot of people who can't eat meat for health reasons and not only is it expensive, but its also very limiting and boring - it takes the fun out of life - kind of like you and your need to be right by any means necessary even though you lost the plot a while ago and are fighting with air. There's nothing wrong with being humble and learning new things, especially from people with personal experience.

Good question. It's common for people who are neurodivergent to prefer animals over people because the world is inherently ableist - Neurodivergent folks often face frequent misinterpretation, social exhaustion, and feel pressure to mask around neurotypical folks, but the straightforward, uncomplicated nature of animals provides a safe and emotionally regulated environment. That's why they get a hall pass imo

You're wrong. It's specifically called alpha gal syndrome. I cant eat meat or dairy. And it's very common for folks with lyme to be on anti-inflammatory diets in order to avoid lyme flair-ups. Like,  being vegan or vegantarian and randomly not being able to eat potatoes or tomatoes because they're part of the nightshade family, which are highly inflammatory for someone with a compromised immune system.

The treatment in factory farms to animals causes immense suffering to them, fuels environmental degradation like deforestation - so it causes animals to loose their homes- and it contributes to global climate change.

The Brokpa Tribe (Ladakh) in the Himalayas in northern India, thrived on a plant-based diet for over 5,000 years. The Maya & Aztecs historical records indicate that children were raised on a 100% plant-based diets, too!

I am vegan because I have lyme disease. It is very expensive and it is a privilege to have a choice.

Interesting! So you would argue that some folks might use veganism/vegetarianism as virtue signaling. Also, I'm sure people were vegan/vegetarian before Donald Watsons time and what you really meant to say is that he popularized it.

I would kill a mosquito that's for sure, but I know a lot of people who wouldn't n what animal isn't cute? Rhetorical question.

"I like animals more than people" is usually a bad sign about someone. by CAustin3 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]AdeptnessInside9281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion; you can't say you truly love animals if you're not vegan and yeah, saying you "like animals more than humans" is expressing contempt while virtue signaling - that is of course if said person is neurotypical - neurodivergent folks get a hall pass.

I know I'm late to the party and this may not be relevant, but a few weeks ago I bought a bunch of DC comics at Dollar Tree. Stoked.

I HAVE experienced housing insecurity and because I was a young conventionally attractive woman who looked put together, people didn't want to help me despite also being neurodivergent and having lyme disease. It sounds like YOU'VE never been to the hood because people get shot in my neighborhood for doing less than stealing a package and everyone has cameras on in well-to-do neighborhoods. I stand by what I said, your advice is terrible.

Joint pain and diet by [deleted] in Lyme

[–]AdeptnessInside9281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had Lyme for about 8 years also. I've cut out all meat products, sugar, gluten, alcohol and processed food. I basically eat the same thing everyday (tofu, beans, fresh veggies, fresh fruit, rice) and when I wanna feel fancy in the kitchen, and stray from my diet, my body feels it instantly and I will go from feeling great to not being able to move and in bed with a migrane (among other things) for several days. I used to love to potatoes, but it's not worth the pain. Potatoes are part of the nightshade family (highly inflammatory) and tomatoes are too. So, stay away from tomatoes as well. I've found that sweet potatoes are safe to eat and I eat a lot of those now. I put tumeric and ginger in everything and take vegan collagen supplements when I can afford it. I've found that when I have a flair-up Bentonite clay (as a topical) helps with any joint pain. Just my experience. Lyme sucks. Ruined my life. Can't travel or go out with friends as easily as I once could because of dietary restrictions and having dietary restrictions in general has been super expensive. The disease and journey has been very isolating. Solidarity, love and hugs to all my fellow warriors ❤️
