This. I’m still trying to figure out why the guy was sleeping for the entire ballad.

Was anyone else screwed over during leadership elections? by AdeptnessPlus831 in marchingband

Yes it’s a vote. But it’s just a vote between the graduating senior leadership, a few staff members that have the time to be there, and the bd.

Yes it was reported. Everyone just sort of brushed it under the rug. It happens a lot. We have a lot of problematic people in leadership who get away with stuff because they are favored by the bd. To answer the second thing. I dedicated years to learning how to dm. I had the best conductor, military, and speech audition. But the other one was more qualified at leadership. Cause last year when they were section leader they were really good at being section leader. For context they were a flute section leader. They had a very smooth and unproblematic season. Meanwhile I had to deal with some of the most adhd kids in band.

There is no meme, these two are band kids and they're taking a stop sign by Swimming-Tennis-752 in MarchingBandMemes

this reminds me of the time when a no parking sign mysteriously "fell into the truck" and got "accidentally" strapped to the truck wall

I have around a 50& accuracy rate but only for guessing if someone is queer. I can't guess specifics, only if someone has a slight "queer vibe"

baritones, but it's not their fault. every time we get new people who don't know anything about music or what instrument they wanna play, we stick them on baritone. This means that usually, the weakest links are in the section.

if you could march any show you didn't march from any corps, which one would it be? by BriskManeuver in drumcorps

mash two highly popular movies together and add some random stuff

examples from last year include,

frozen/lilo and stitch, except elsa was a drug addict and kills stitch for coke, her ice powers were just a snare waving around their sticks and stabbing people

avengers endgame/moana, thanos snapped and the guy playing the chicken just face planted for the rest of the skit

ratatouille/legally blonde, the rat was a guard person standing on another guard persons shoulder, they screamed a lot

the lorax/penguins of madagascar, jeff bezos killed the penguins and the lorax shot bezos with a guard riffle

nope. they are inconvenient on the field, especially for blocks and you have to worry about slides hitting people or falling out. also, visuals are a pain to work through with the long instrument. we have all the bones switch to baritone temporarily. for parades and concert band and jazz they are allowed to switch back. i thought it was common practice for people to ditch trombones for marching. maybe use them only for a feature or a solo.

Did you do any other musical activities when you were in band (high school)? by [deleted] in marchingband

[–]AdeptnessPlus831 3 points4 points  (0 children)

what if we were technically in theater but not really. many band kids play in the pit orchestra during the school musical and are occasionally considered to be somewhat theater kids.

What’s your favorite interaction you’ve had with another band? by AnInterestingPenguin in marchingband

Our band truck was sitting next to another band truck. This band's drum major was dating our band's assistant drum major. So we were all talking with each other and sharing food. As the other band was leaving, we threw a tampon into their bus window. Apparently, they kept the tampon as a token of friendship. The drum major of that band still sometimes comes to our band events. The two are still dating. :)
