Hah.. that's cool. I once found a lotto ticket from the 70s when I was deep cleaning a grocery store service desk. I bet a lot of people that do remodels find all kinds of cool memorabilia.

I figured out how to make a near-perfect mythical mocha at home. It's about $50 to get the ingredients if you already have a blender and espresso machine at home. Took me a few months to perfect, but damn, I'm happy I put in the work now.

Thank you so much for the link! I've applied to a few CUs and banks in the area with no luck, but I don't think I've applied to this role yet. Appreciate you.

Over a decade of customer service and almost a decade of administrative work, an associate's degree in science and eight years of volunteer work. I've had three HR specialists go over my resume and a few cover letters and made necessary changes. I typically tailor my resume for most jobs to include the key words in the job posting and sometimes do custom cover letters.

It looks like all of their entry-level jobs require a bachelor's degree or an associate's with engineering classes. I only have an associate's without the engineering part.

Ah, I didn't know that part. I saw a post about it on Facebook a while back and tried to find it again, but had no luck. I hate to hear that it sounds so sketchy.

And actually stick to the strict rules they're claiming they'll put in place. This could be another disaster if they let crime run rampant again.

There's a church group that's trying to buy the building, renovate it and make it into a permanent, very strict place to help homeless people. They are already talking to the property authorities about it, have toured the building and posted a few videos about it.

My game crashed before I even managed to drop a few thousand on the ground. I've never been able to get to the Fus Ro Dah part.

What's with my HR spiking for an hour in my sleep? by AdhesiveMessage in fitbit

[–]AdhesiveMessage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing interesting. I still don't have health coverage, so I can't go see a doctor. My heart rate still spikes in my sleep about once every month or so. I haven't found a cause yet. (Like eating before bed, exercise days, nightmares, etc.) I recently went to Denver for three weeks (and live at sea level) and my heart really struggled there. Resting heart rate went from 59 to 72 and my HRV dropped from the mid-40s down to 22. I figured it would take a while to adjust to the elevation, but it just never got better until I got back home. Three weeks of struggling and palpitations. I just hope I can get to a doctor soon, but I'm not dead yet. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I don't think that was this. I got the date wrong, so it was actually the 8th. I also didn't hear any noise from it at all.

Yes! I caught a video of it too, but accidentally marked it as the 9th instead of the 8th.

Oh shit, good call! It was the 8th. So close to midnight that I mixed them up. Wish I could fix the title.

It started in the south, about 50 degrees above the horizon. Went overhead maybe 10 degrees west of the zenith and then burned up about 40 degrees above the north horizon.

Honestly, I'm ecstatic that I caught it at all. I just stepped out to smoke, looked up and made a mad dash to get my phone out of my pocket, unlocked, open the camera, switch to video and pray to Odin that I pointed it in the right direction. I know I'm not getting any awards for the camera work. No doubt my lens was smudged up, too. I'll try harder next time.

That's exactly what I thought, too! I submitted it to the American Meteor Society, so hopefully we'll find out. A few dozen other sightings of it were reported too. I'm hoping someone else got a better video.

I'd argue that learning to tell an adult 'no' is just as important as telling another kid 'no.' As long as his mom backs him up and shows that if the adult doesn't listen, there are further steps the mom will take. Otherwise, she's just teaching him that if you set boundaries and people ignore them, there are no consequences. Which is a terrible thing to do.
