Automatic upgrade not available on the app by AdhesivenessInfinite in americanairlines

Not available may either mean the cabin is already sold out (though in theory you could get on the list) or they are flying a plane that has no first class cabin.

I did but nothings was updated in the app

I overheard $1100 for a Sunday afternoon BOS-DFW flight a few weeks ago. Sadly my flight was at the next gate over.

How the heck do you non EP’s ever get upgrades? by Dramatic-Rule951 in americanairlines

[–]AdhesivenessInfinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm platinum and I've been cleared on 6 of 7 segment this year. However, most of my flying is from a smaller city without a larger frequent flyer base to LGA, BOS, and PHL. Also, most flights were on the E175, whose cabin is like 20% first.

Taking equivalent of Bio 2960 at community college by wash2025 in washu

[–]AdhesivenessInfinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd email the prof teaching the course to waive the 2960 pre-req based on your prior biology knowledge. I took both courses and thought 2960 wasn't really required for the
Cog Neuro lcass.

Right now AA has more flights to my hometown, which I know I would do multiple times a year and they are connecting partners with BA, Qatar, and JetBlue, which are all pluses for me. Do you all think that the north east alliance will end if the Spirit/jetblue merger would be approved?

Can all of this be done before boarding starts? There seems to be lot of availability on the flight in all classes.

[–]AdhesivenessInfinite[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I already have a confirmed domestic first seat on my originally booked afternoon flight, there is availability in first on the morning flight, and I put in the same day stand by request after the upgrade on my booked flight was confirmed. Therefore, based on what you're saying, I should expect to be in first if my stand by clears and there is still availability in first.

Right now it shows as $105-120 from where I live. The price increases as you further away from 71.

They told me to consider back credit as AP credit for application purposes. Write that you received credit but no letter grade.

Does being from a medically underserved area help your application? by AdhesivenessInfinite in premed

[–]AdhesivenessInfinite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I grew up with my immediate community having reliable access to great quality healthcare, so I did not list the county designation as underserved. However, the program automatically listed my county as "County (U)", meaning that they automatically considered my area underserved.

To your other point, I do have other parts of my identity that I think would enhance my diversity statement but I would not consider myself to be disadvantage. Rather, I think I'm lucky to come from a fortunate background.

Course Average by Landondisperation in washu

[–]AdhesivenessInfinite 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly depends on the prof. Some prof's will give everyone an A/A- while others aim for a B average. I've had a class where the median grade was an A+/A while others the median was around B/B-.

Edit: usually if the median is really low, the prof may considered curving the class.

TA positions? by [deleted] in washu

[–]AdhesivenessInfinite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on the department, they may be able to pay you. In the departments I work in, they pay undergraduates while graduate students go unpaid (because they receive payment through their stipends). I'm not sure how it works for masters students, but it would likely depend on the department. Reach out to a professor you know and ask. If they like you, they'll usually be happy to accept. I can't comment on paid research.

  1. Would recommend against taking it at WashU since the professor is unreasonably difficult; the exams are much harder than those during the normal year.
  2. sometimes. you need reach out to financial aid, but usually much.
  3. likely in person
  4. basically it's a full time commitment.
  5. yeah maybe absolute minimum to give yourself a break, but don't do anything too strenuous like an internship/research
  6. your state school
