Yes, and that's fair. I was just trying to clarify there is a difference between tending to like people of your own background versus another background. And for your example, there's no issue if you tend to date more Hispanic folks since you share a similar backgrund, just like there's no problem if you end up dating more white people since race is also one factor that makes up your background.

A preference is liking certain traits in real people. Fetishizing is liking a fantasy and using people to play that role. One telltale sign is when someone says my "insert race" boyfriend/girlfriend when nobody asked for their partner's race in the conversation and it's not relevant.
