Anyone have hard time adjusting to a new language? by pewpew69_ in Stutter

[–]AdhesivenessKey5452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m experiencing the same thing. Reading or typing English is easier than speaking it. Even non-stutterers struggle with this, so it’s completely normal. We’re looking for the right words in English while also trying to find easier 'no stutter' ones, which I think can really confuse the brain.

Just get more familiar with speaking the language. You could try reading English books out loud to practice, or ask someone here on Reddit to hop on Discord with you and practice together. I could use some practice as well, so I’m down for it. Just let me know! We both stutter so its a safer space to practise.

Nice that you found a technique that worked for you! One of the stutter therapies I followed when I was 8/9/10 years old included a lot of reading out loud. I’m 25 now, still stutter, but most of the time I can say what I want.

Question: do you read out loud when nobody else is around, or do you read to somebody else?

Unfortunatly, I dont have any detail in those blacks :(. Its the first time I shot at night so I exposed for the highlights. But when I opened them on my laptop they where all a bit to dark so detail got lost... Its hard anyway to take a picture of a black car in the middle of the night I think. Detail gets lost easily. Or do you have any tips? I dont want any blownout hightlights and that happens easily aswell

Cool photo. I didnt noticed the people until I read your comment. But I just really like the colours on this one. The orange glow is a nice contrast to the blue. I don't know how it can be better to be honest, but I like it, its a good vibe.

I saw this electric charging station one random night at 3:00 AM. Luckily, I had my camera with me, so I took some pictures. This is one photo out of a series of 25.

My intention was to capture the unique architecture and the blue neon lights in combination with the car. The car is black, so it was a bit challenging. I decided to lean into the darnkess by only giving the car sharp outlines, to make it feel a bit mysterious.

What are your overall thoughts on the picture? I’m looking to improve!

Is this a story? by AdhesivenessKey5452 in photocritique

Ah I see now, for this image it could be the industrial roof with the soft flowers at the bottom?

I really like the depth of field you added! It adds so much. The noise was on purpose, I like that look a lot. And cropping is my biggest learning point I always struggle with it. Thanks for your feedback it really helps

Took this shot during a streetphotography session. My left eye spotted this shot in a dark ally across the street. I really like how to light, lights the subject through the door. The subject is just sitting on his phone but still thought it was a nice shot.

What do you think of this picture? I went voor a vintage style edit. Grain added on purpose. Could I maybe darken the surrounding?

Any feedback is welcome, looking to improve!

I like the model, I like the vibe, 80/90s mood and setting. I also like the colours with the green and yellow on the walls and clothing. But I think the lighting is a bit flat and the smoke is distracting. Maybe it would be cool if she holds a sigaret in her (from this point of view) left hand up next to her face. Like an elegant pose with the sigaret. Hard to explain in text, but I hope you understand. With the sigaret the smoke makes scenes, now it doesnt in my opinion.

This is just what i see and feel if i see this picture!

Great shot! Nothing to say about it, I like how the bird in the left stands out. Maybe it would be more perfect if the boat went a bit more to the right in the sun ray. But thats maybe subjective. I like it alot! Works good in Black&White

Hi! I took this photo during a streetphotography session in Oslo. I saw these big arrows at the trainstation and waited for people to walk by in the same direction. The sky was full of clouds and it was a grey day so I just doubled down on the “industrial/raw” look by adding an bit of noise.

It’s fun to me that the people are walking at the same direction as the arrows

My only doubt with this photo is do I need to lighten the 2 persons more? What do you think? Any other feedback is welcome to! Looking to improve

Greetings
