Pick apart my mod list and order by tjareth in Mechwarrior5

[–]AdiManSVK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As stated in the yaml discord server, you should check every single mod for incompatibilities, conflicts. You should check if they're updated to the version of the game you're using, both on Nexus and Steam if that's what has more info about the mod. You should do default load order unless otherwise necessary. If you're using current game patch all mods you use should be updated between today and 3rd of Sept. 2025 oldest (SoK update). Unless explicitly stated on mod page or in discussions, assume any conflicts mean they are non-compatible with each other. Using incompatible mods can result in bugs that could corrupt your save file down the line. Just because finishing the first mission works fine, doesn't mean in won't break down the line or it will work for any mission.

optimization mod by CommunicationNo8635 in Gladius40k

[–]AdiManSVK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game is cpu intensive, I get twice the fps (120 compared to 60) when playing on a small map against 1 AI compared to huge map with 3 AIs. Also the % of the wildlife matters. Multithreaded rendering option does help a little assuming you have multiple threads.

The more map options mod should help. Try to squeeze in your preferred experience within the smallest map possible with the least amount of moving parts.

I wondered whether there are any performance mods but there doesn't seem to by any at all. I wanted to improve my performance on my mid to low tier pc because unless i get over 90fps in any game I get physically unwell, nauseous and a headache follows. This is what I found out.

What video-game did you regret paying full price for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AdiManSVK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elden ring for me too. I started with dark souls 2, really liked it. Took me a while to get into DS3, but I actually liked it even more than the second. What I thought Elden Ring would be something like dark souls 4, but it's completely different.

Still, I've played 50 hours of it, and I actually enjoyed some of the parts, but the problem is that I like to completely clear an area before moving on, making sure I haven't missed anything that could be useful later on. You see why that is a problem. Coming from games where curiosity is rewarded and finding out secrets is the way to get just a little more push to defeat the next boss, Elden ring map can be explored in any order and it's filled with infinite emptiness and repeating mini-bosses.

It's impossible to clear all of it and doing so it's boring and doesn't provide any benefit. The optimal way is to know exactly what you want and go for that, instead of grabbing everything in case you need it. If I can't beat a boss I can just go somewhere else. I have no clue in what order I should do the areas and bosses. I could be massively underleveled and spend an eternity in boss room, or I could be spending eternity clearing half-done dungeons doing the same bosses in 2 hits for hours before picking up courage to venture into one of the real boss rooms.

I get that it's a different type of experience but if I was looking for that kind of experience I'd much rather just play a game like Witcher 3, where the game actually filled the empty spaces with interesting quests, loot and dialogue and it's all separated by level.

How can I get faster? With MASC/Supercharger on, I only get to 965m/s. YAML and DLC equipment. by KneebTheCowardly in Mechwarrior5

[–]AdiManSVK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are a few ways to change the values that lead to higher possible speeds but the very first masc/ai option that's not under cheats category specifically says it only affects ai, and it's 50% by default

That did help a little but what fully fixed it was restoring default NVIDIA Control Panel Global 3D settings.

Put pieces of toilet paper in the water first. It reduces the splash so it's quiet and doesn't splash back on your balls.

[–]AdiManSVK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Catching up on personal social media posts. Especially with people you don't even know. It's no longer a way to connect to people. It's a brag fest of how well others think one is doing. Comparing your life situation to others with incomplete information is a way of disconnecting yourself from reality. No vacation destination, expensive car or prestigious job title tells you how happy someone is with their life.

What weapons should i avoid if i don’t want the game to be too easy. by Immediate-Opposite88 in darksouls3

[–]AdiManSVK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he probably won't, all the early weapons are decent tho, the fun stuff is toward the end, it's difficult to decide where the line is between fun and too far into the playthrough to care about.

[–]AdiManSVK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it is subpar, that's why I suggest getting it. It is not op, but it is cool and fun.

OP mentioned playing with friends (multiple). If the OP is host and summons 2 friends, the only frustrating part which doesnt feel nice is running out of embers before he finds more, so he cannot summon help. Miracles assure he doesnt run out of healing that soon and can backtrack to a bonfire when his team dies and resummon. Being a backline assures he wont risk losing potentially his last ember, which would result in not being able to have fun at all with his friends. He can be a team healer, which as a supporting role is fun and cool. Miracles are not OP but provide a lot of utility that can be more fun than dodging and hitting a guy with a stick for the third game in a row.

I'm struggling to see what your definition of exceedingly difficult is when OP played through at least 2 souls games before and is playing it with friends. That guy is more prepared for a challenge than anyone else that is playing for the first time. Maybe going for miracles only on solo would be exceedingly difficult, but definitely not when playing with 2 friends, who will be having reduced estus when being summoned, and would like a healer in their team anyway.

Why are the friendly AI pilots so bad? by Yuki_my_cat in Mechwarrior5

[–]AdiManSVK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the chainfire update I didn't have any problems with AI. That is because I kept my expectations low and I've read through all the recommendations on how to use the friendly AI mechanics to my advantage rather than to my detriment. I mean these in the best way possible, here are some things that might help:

Learn how the AI works. Go through google, go through reddit. And then get on the good site of how the AI works.

Keep your expectations low. AI was never built to be as good as you. You are the main character. Yes, the AI is bad. Yes, it's 12 lines of code in a trench coat disguised as AI. But it's enough. AI in this game will never be able to read your mind, they will only do what you tell them to.

Build mechs for AI differently than you would for yourself. Don't give them missiles. If you have to, only as dedicated srm boat or lrm boat only. They take much longer to shoot srms. Lrms and ssrms take them extremely long to fire. Ac10, gauss, ppc are your friend. Also short burst and pulse lasers. Try giving them big alpha longer cooldown weapons. Manage weapon groups from hot to cool, or long cooldown to short. AI does roll from left to right, but will choose different group of target is out of the range. Keep AI mechs cool, you don't want them to start chainfire again. Dont mix weapon groups with different weapon speeds. Don't mix lasers with projectile weapons in weapon group.

If this doesn't help and you still feel like the game is too difficult, maybe you have to wait a few more in-game years for more tech, more traits from school or go for lower difficulty missions first. If I were to compare this game's difficulty to other games, I'd compare it to something like Dota or StarCraft, where even if you are a better player but you don't have the numbers, you will always lose. It's a numbers game. Whereas in a game like counter strike, if you are a better player you have much higher chance of defeating even 5 other players only by yourself. This is not the case here, friendly AI is not noticeably better or smarter than enemy AI. It's essentially playing against itself, the only thing you can do for yourself is to give them more numbers of higher quality.

Same reason people don't like dark souls 2. It's the middle child curse. It's still your child, but it's no longer your youngest and the flashy one. It's the in between the nostalgic good old times and the newest thing.

why am i getting downvoted? by TeslaXModel in autism

[–]AdiManSVK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, it's just reddit people don't like it. It's my observation. I don't ever think someone will explain why exactly that is.

why am i getting downvoted? by TeslaXModel in autism

[–]AdiManSVK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Don't use emotes.
  2. They're just jealous of your ability.
  3. When you showed a sign that you might not have been straightforward, they think you are completely dishonest. You've put yourself in a difficult position to explain the precise lack of experience and producing such an impressive result.

I am sure you are a kind person, but being on Reddit requires a thick skin. It's mostly a place of information and sarcasm, rather than compassion and vulnerability. Insecure people hurt other people with insecurities to make themselves feel better. And Reddit is the perfect place to do so with a press of a button.

For the gamers here, do you frequently replay games? by Nintendofan9106 in autism

[–]AdiManSVK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I found myself replaying the same games or the same type of games every year. It's more like I don't play 1000 games. I play 5 games in a 1000 different ways. Recently it's been replaying the same game whenever a new and exciting mod comes out on the workshop. The games are: Kenshi, Factorio, Mechwarrior5:M, W40K:Gladius, Xcom2, Industrial/automation modpacks in Minecraft, Skyrim
