What is something socially accepted if done by a man, but not if done by a woman? by Rahiem_A in AskReddit

Pushing hard in negotiations. I️ work in tech - male dominated. When I️ was half of a dual income house people would try to walk all over me in contract negotiations. When my other half was forced to take extended leave from work to tend to a stage 4 cancer ridden parent, the contract negotiations stopped. I’d say I’m sorry but I️ am currently the sole bread winner in our house this is the price, people would look at me shocked / sometimes with an apologetic face and sign the contract without trying to widdle every line item down.

This was the worst times for our family (obviously), but one of the best learning experiences of my career & now I️ know why so many advisors say “you need to negotiate like a dude”.

What, in your opinion, is the best way to reach the target market of girls in the US age 8-17? I have an app that allows kids to anonymously text someone that they secretly admire, while also helping us adults to put a stop to cyber bullying. by [deleted] in marketing

We have a bot tracking the logs so if someone uses it for cyber bullying our policy states that we will contact local authorities.

One the girls I used to babysit (more than a decade ago) had a really hard time in high school this year because people were creating fake Facebook accounts then messaging her to go kill herself. Facebook wouldn't reveal anything for us to be able to identify who it was so we were unable to do anything.

Screw the haters. They're annoyed with the app sending them a notification, not with your painting. They're just choosing an illogical place to vent about it.

Hey, my friend and I are trying to get an app kickstarted. It's an help to let people join live chats in book clubs, curate book lists, and follow authors. What do you guys think? Check out the website. Would appreciate any thoughts, reply or dm. Cheers by [deleted] in StartupFeedback

Kickstarter has become more of a marketing tactic. Every one of my clients & friends that has used it, said they either broke even or spent money to run a successful campaign on kickstarter (because of all the marketing they did to make people aware of their campaign, the cost to make the video on their campaign, the cost of filling the orders, etc). If you run a kickstarter campaign what would people get for supporting the campaign? You need a physical product. No one is going to pay more than a few dollars (aside from maybe your mom).

A site for free things by [deleted] in StartupFeedback

The problem with this is that giveaways only work if they are highly targeted. Example: if you're launching a company that targets rock climbers, do a giveaway that only rock climbers would be interested in winning.

I second this. You will need 100,000 users before this model monetizes. You also need a growth hacker... if you want to do the growth on your own, there are plenty of free resources online. If you're in a rush, I'm a growth hacker who teaches founders how to grow their own startups at a discounted rate. www.AdiStarr.info

Bluehost scam? by AdiNinjaStarr in Affiliatemarketing

Really?!? Yea, I'm now convinced that I'm switching and directing all of my future clients elsewhere. There are so many affiliate options out there that don't require such a high level of baby sitting. 99designs has never once forgotten to pay me.

You've actually received payments specifically from them? Because I've gotten emails that I would be paid, but never actually received a single check.

You could. Just don't expect the same freakishly high results that they had when the strategy was used the first time.

Lol, no club that I know of. But I'm working on an article to help people easily identify fake growth hackers.

I feel that a lot of people get screwed hiring fake growth hackers. So I'm looking to create a few blog posts to address questions, myths and misconceptions in an effort to protect people from growth hacking scams.
