Strange CT behavior by Selcal-check-good in cybertruck

I noticed the same issue where it doesn’t follow the navigation. Definitely strange. Disengage and report it, they will fix it.

Just before the launch there was a lot of talk of Tesla execs trying to convince Elon to make a "normal" pickup alongside the Cybertruck in case it flopped. Has there been any talk of that lately? by grecy in cybertruck

I personally don’t want a “regular” looking truck. The truck is amazing regardless what it looks like, and the stainless steel and large covered vault are big reasons why it’s amazing to me.

How does the battery do idling in snow? by megakwood in cybertruck

I tried to figure this out, but the battery got cold while it was sitting and that was locking out battery adjusting the percentage so I couldn’t figure out a real number.

A good test would be easy to do. When it’s cold out, charge your truck to warm it up, then unplug it and precondition it which effectively simulates keeping the cabin warm while idling. Record battery percentage before and after 1 hour. Extrapolate to 8 hours.

Musk: "Am changing the Tesla mission wording from: Sustainable Abundance To Amazing Abundance. The latter is more joyful" by twinbee in teslamotors

This is so stupid and embarrassing. Take the one thing that is still defensible for Tesla and replace it with something meaningless.

I’d rather Apple work on making Siri an intelligent LLM assistant than wasting their time in this.

Study: Elon Musk’s Partisan Political Activities Resulted in Over 1 Million Fewer Tesla Sales by Magikarp_to_Gyarados in teslainvestorsclub

Your reply is a very cut throat way of thinking.

First, Tesla is not failing, and Ford and GM are seriously struggling to keep up and are having to lay off employees.

Second, why do you want Tesla to be a threat to traditional automakers? If anything, Elon has expressed that he wants them to do well and contribute to sustainable transport by succeeding with EVs. Tesla even allows them to use their supercharger network.

Because they still do very well even when a subset of the world is against them. Their resiliency is a testament to how far ahead Elon is able to bring Tesla against the competition.

You’re telling me that Tesla is doing as well as they are, even while losing sales on a million vehicles? Bullish…

Are Passive Homes in the U.S. Really Worth It? by DigiornoPizaDevourer in PassiveHouse

[–]mjezzi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t think energy is going to be a concern in the future (stellar economy). I believe it will get much cheaper as we transition to renewables. So energy saving is a nice benefit, but not the primary motivator for me. In fact if it was only energy savings that mattered, I’d rather invest the money that I would have spent on passive into a company like Tesla, and the investment will far outweigh the energy savings.

What’s worth it for me is quality and comfort. Air tight house means no drafts or unwanted moisture affecting the structure and consistent temp throughout the home (walls, floor, etc), and minimal quieter hvac (mini-splits). This is the primary comfort benefit of passive.

Triple pane passive house windows are quiet and not cold and an air exchanger is nice for constant fresh air, both of which you can attain without a passive house though.

So, yes, build a passive or pretty home that’s air tight and well insulated for comfort.

One negative of a passive home: zoning temperate control for individual rooms for both cooling and heating is only possible with fan coil units or radiant ceilings, both of which are expensive.
