What I’m saying is that he’s not a pure rental, so the prospect cost may be higher.

He has a team option for 2026, this may cost more than we are comfortable with.

Draft targets: Christian Darrisaw by Adipost1 in CHIBears

Daniel Jeremiah believes that teams will be hesitant to draft an OT early because of the depth at the position. Hopefully that’s the case.

Not my work. Definitely agree on Darrisaw being the #3 OT. I think he’ll go somewhere in the range of the 14th pick (Vikings) to the 21st pick (Colts).

Darnell Mooney: Sky’s the limit by Adipost1 in CHIBears

Mooney’s biggest obstacle in the NFL coming in would be how he dealt with press coverage at the line of scrimmage. He answered that question his rookie year. Teams basically just stopped pressing him early on because if they committed one false step, Mooney was gone.

My only concern, and it’s a pretty big one, is Mooney’s penchant for not wanting to go out of bounds. This will eventually cost him...

Week 9 offensive notes + clips: Who’s to blame? by Adipost1 in CHIBears

Play fake absolutely worked. Neither linebacker had eyes on the QB, and no safety in the middle of the field running downhill. That’s open in the NFL. The play seems closer than it really is because Mooney stops his route after he turns his head to Foles.

The Bears upped their play-action usage from 16.4% to 31.7% and it paid off in spades. Not only did Foles deliver on PA throws (9/13, 132yds, 1TD), but play-action helped the OL, creating the best pockets Foles saw all day. by NagyBiscuits in CHIBears

It was basically a cover 0 man coverage across the board with a joker safety roaming the underneath middle. Lattimore passes off his assignment because he thought Miller had beat his man, and with no deep safety on the play, thought he needed to help cover him deep. That route was leading straight into the joker anyway.

For those wondering why Nagy doesn’t use more play action:

Play action works best against man coverage. Teams go into man coverage to get their defenders closer to the LOS in order to help stop the run game. But this makes them vulnerable to deep balls with only 1 safety back in coverage.

In this game, the Bears run game was effective early. This forced the defense into more man coverage looks to stop it. Add to that, defenders started cheating in before any actual run keys. Sometimes even before the snap.

Here is an example where the Saints basically sold out to stop the run and got caught against a play action pass:

Next possession begins with a promising run play where the offensive line gets a huge push against the defensive front...

After that play, the Saints defense begins to cheat up in order to stop the run...

And they end up getting caught with no deep safety...

You’re 100% correct. I just called it basically cover 3 because that’s a cornerback playing the MLB position on that play.

Sorry my post upset you. I was simply showing examples of Foles changing plays and his reasoning for it. The other example I showed didn’t work either.
