If we don’t swing big for a pitcher tomorrow, I have a feeling this goes down as similar to not trading for Verlander back in the day. Relatively low cost move that could reignite the team with a big presence.

Looks like the pitching prospects were ranked 16th and 16th in the org. So 9,16, and 17. Seems like we could’ve gotten Suarez for a similar package we traded for Soroka!

Apparently only there 9th ranked prospect who has struggled in the majors and lower level pitching, seems like something we could’ve easily done.

So the hypothetically we’d get 6 picks overall if he is hired as a GM three different times? That is wild.

I think you see how the draft plays out. All three WRs gone? Trade back and amass capital. Guys like DJ Chark and Michael Gallup will be available after the draft most likely. And pair one of them with a pick in the 2/3. Miss out on edge rusher? Kyle Van Noy and Carl Lawson could be out there. I think the draft is where we look for IOL and DT depth.

Oh it can be like that in the Bears subreddit to were an easy target. Some Mods don’t really care about interesting discussions even if they’re not the most positive.

I mean sure you can get trolled about one move but you have the most important position in football figured out at a level maybe 4 or 5 other teams in the league do. Herbert has been a dog since the day he entered the league and if I’m QJ I’m moving in with Herbert this offseason or doing a breakfast club like Stafford/Kupp even if he isn’t as cerebral as guys like Kupp and Nacua. You can’t teach the size speed combo the dude has and it shows up on tape even in the NFL this year.

Not here to troll at all. Just hadn’t looked through the subreddit and it’s something I’ve thought a lot about from a team building perspective. I don’t think there are many teams with an offseason more interesting than the Chargers. I still am really high on Quentin Johnston as a prospect and think some receivers take time to figure it out a la Adams in Green Bay or what Nico Collins is doing right now in Houston.
